Thank you for your post as I see it the sun represents Christ the light of the world the moon represents his bride the reflected light of the sun and the stars represents the children of God created by Christ and bride.

As for the morning star it is Christ

Rev 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

In the verse you quote from Job, "morning stars" could be a figurative reference to angels. But that doesn't mean that "Angels" is the answer to the question in the thread title, "What are the Stars?" Angels are described as spiritual beings. Incidentally, the children's rhyme, "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" was written by sisters Jane and Ann Taylor in 1806, who lived in the town of Colchester, England (the town where I was born). Apparently, a statue has recently been put up in the town depicting the sisters. If you are interested, go to Twinkle Star Statue – Essex Heritage Trust

Angels in some cases - like Rev 12 where Satan drew 1/3 of the stars -- 1/3 of the angels
Angels in the case of "morning stars sang together"
But not angels in Gen 1 where God is said to be the one that created the stars - that give us the sign of seasons.
also not angels in your 1 Cor 15 quote - where it is real stars like the moon is the real moon.

However in Gen 1 - on day 4 God (who is the creator of the stars) only created two lights on day 4, namely the sun and the moon as the text says. He did not create a zillion and two lights on day 4.

Thank you for this bit of info, yes I am interested to know where all nursery rhymes originated from as some of them are really sinister & just to think that we all sang them when we were young. I'll have to do a thread about them when I have time.

I refer you back to my earlier post where I said that the "morning stars" mention in Job are a picture-language of angels. So some bible mentions of stars refer to angels, but by no means all. In most, of not all cases, it is reasonable clear when picture language is being used.

Not the actual stars we see in the sky. Angels are spiritual beings, so physical stars can't be angels. It is only when the word "stars" in the bible is used figuratively that it sometimes refers to angels.

I personally believe that the streaks of light seen momentarily shooting across the night sky. Usually parallel to the earth surface, what is call a shooting star. I believe very well could be an angel going somewhere.

The morning stars were light bearers in the skies of the prehistoric creation.

Like what our stars do today, they were to mark things like seasons, and may have even motivated migrations of prehistoric animals.

And, Lucifer, being the grand morning star, used to herald in the mornings of the prehistoric world. It was one reason for his grandiose pride.

Because of the conceit of Satan because of his ability and attributes to be such a great influence upon life on the prehistoric world?
God slapped down Satan's pride by replacing his function in this creation with a mindless and lifeless giant "glowing star, the sun." All the morning stars that had followed Satan had their sense of importance also removed after God replaced their function as well with light bearing mindless stars.

The morning star means the star that is the most visible in the morning. Also sometimes called lightbearer (Fosforos in Greek, Lucifer in Latin), because it precedes and signals the light of a new day.

What the ancient people called the morning star, we call the planet Venus. However, in the common folk speech or in poetry, its still referred to as the morning star, sometimes. But its not really a star, it only seems so to a naked eye.

It also says that God made them to bear light in Genesis 1:16.

In other words? God created the heavens and earth in the beginning. But? The sun and stars were awaiting to be made to bear light.
It does not say God created the sun, bearing light. Just as the first three days in Genesis had daylight, but no sun yet.

There was something special going on during the first days of this current world's creation that was showing the light bearing angels that they were now to be replaced by the sun and stars...

We need to know this if we are ever to understand why Lucifer fell and it's consequences that followed.
