  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So who gets the authority? Do we "protest-ants" have to wrestle with the "Greeks and Romans" for it.

Mark 1:6 And John was clothed/endedumenoV <1746> (5765) hairs/tricaV <2359> of camel,,and a girdle of skin around his loins, and eating locusts and honey of the field,

LLoJ,

Your posts with single line scriptural quotes and one word highlighted do not make sense to me. What did these two passages have to do with your question? Are they just random? I'm trying to follow you, but just not getting your drift.

The authority follows a line of succession from Bishop to Bishop down through time by the laying on of hands of the Bishops. The power is with God.

Forgive me...

It is also clear the tranfer was limited:

21: Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
22: Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.
23: And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
24: And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,
25: That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
26: And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

It is clear that transfer was limited to eyewitnesses of His resurrection.

Transferrable...

Yep.

Act 1:20-26

For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take. Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection. And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all [men], shew whether of these two thou hast chosen, That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

Then the very next set of Bishops were foneys?

Titus? Clemet?

You say the authority came to an end... Where is that stated in scripture?

I see no such limitation.

Forgive me...

Does being a minister or elder in a non-Greek/Roman church count.

That depends. Did the "End of the Age" ever occur?

.Matthew 10:22 and Ye shall be being hated by all thru the Name of Me, the one yet enduring to into end/teloV <5056>, this one shall be being saved.

1 Peter 4:7 Of all-things/pantwn <3956> yet The/ End/teloV <5056> hath Come Nigh/hggiken <1448>; be sober-minded, then, and watch unto the prayers,

Did two Bishops from Apostolic Churches appoint them? Then they are not ministers nor elders according to Nicene Theology.

One must also understand that no one Bishop hold authority... but all of them acting as equals in council can make a declaration as led by The Holy Spirit and then the entire Church must ratifiy these decisions.

There is no one Bishop in charge, Christ is in charge and the Chruch is a concliar body.

Forgive me...

Jesus does not convene with his Bishops and so he is not here to be an authorityover these Bishops and that is why Jesus gave Peter the Keys.

Just as the Steward in Isaiah 22 was the master of the palace when there was no King there so is Peter (and his successors) the Master here on earth for the Kingdom.

Shalom

So who gets the authority? Do we "protest-ants" have to wrestle with the "Greeks and Romans" for it.

Art thou also a protestant? Search, and look: for out of Protestanism ariseth no prophet.

I will take the winner of these 2

Revelation 13:1 And it/he was standing on the sand of the sea. And I saw out of the sea/f a wild-beast/n [LUTHER] ascending/up-stepping, having horns, ten, and heads/f, seven...........

.......11 And I saw another wild beast [POPE] ascending/up-stepping out of the land, and it had horns, two, like a lambkin and it spoke as a dragon
