She sure did get a lot of credit for it. So she did something.

So did Harris do that anything like what Michelle did?
I wasn't going to post here but...

You do know there is a big difference between being the wife of a president and the VP?

As to what Kamala Harris has done, here are a few things.

In regards to immigration, she was tasked to look into the WHYs for immigration. What was driving people to immigrate? For instance, there has been a drought problem in Guatemala. In doing that, she helped to create the the public-private partnership Central America Forward (CAF). The purpose of that partnership was to create jobs in Central America along with other measures. The partnership has generated $6.2 million and involves over 50 companies.

Kamala Harris oversees the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention. It led to the passing of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. That act bars people under 21 from buying guns, gave the DOJ more power in prosecuting gun traffickers and set up mental health srvices for those affected by gun violence.

As a senator, she introduced the the Maternal CARE Act and the Black Maternal Health Momnibus Act and those acts were passed as part of the Build Back Better Bill. The goal of it was to improve maternal and newborn health for all types, particularly ethnic minorities and veterans.

She has been working with congress to pass things like the John Lewis Voting Rights Act. As VP, she cast the deciding votes on the Inflation Reduction Act and the American Rescue Plan of 2021. Besides all that, she has met and worked with many foreign leaders like Pres. Macron from France and South Korean Yoon Suk Yeol.

That is some of what she has doing the last 3 1/2 years. Before that, she was a senator from California, the California AG, a District AG and a prosecutor.

It exemplifies the pro-Harris participant. Basically, the pro-Harris camp knows that there is nothing that can be pointed to that is a positive for Harris, so the smokescreen has been deployed.
I’m pretty sure we each know where one another stands, with regards to whom should occupy the Oval Office come January 20, 2025, and that’s fine and good, and it’s good to start threads about how Kamala Harris isn’t qualified, or have much depth, policy-wise.

She’s not Trump, that’s the whole of her campaign, and some window-dressing.

It’s a bona fide “popularity-contest”, just like Donald Trump always knew it would be except he thought he was going up against Biden.

Odd how things turned out?
If he wins, I’m still cautiously optimistic that we’ll weather his tenure just fine.

Yes, one has zero authority.

Thanks for actually addressing the OP. Quite refreshing.

If these things are so great, why isn’t she running on them? She can’t really run on the Inflation Reduction Act because Biden torpedoed that for her. But the other stuff should be front and center.

She has been. She talks about it in her rallies.

Does she ever answer questions?

Oh wait, never mind.
Yes, she does. I have seen her answer questions from a reporter.

She is an articulate woman. As a prosecuter and AG, she had to argue her points to the judge and debate against the defense. I think she will intimidate Trump in the debate.

It would have been nice if Dana Bash asked better questions. All but 4 of them were asking for responses to what Trump said.

Is she touting how good the economy is? How secure the borders are? Anything like that?

Harris is saying the US economy is the envy of the world, and it is. We are actually doing great. GDP is good, inflation is coming down so the Fed may lower rates again, and the jobs report is still good.

She also talks about the bipartisan border bill that would have helped and that Trump tanked it by telling Republicans not to vote for it, even though Republicans were invovled in the writing of the bill.

Harris also points out that Trump's tariff plan is a big tax on Americans as it will cause higher prices on those imported items to cover for the tariff.

So if everything is so great, why were her and Biden’s approval ratings so bad? Like, historically bad. Because you can get all the charts and graphs and tell us how great we are compared to the rest of the world, but people don’t care when they go grocery shopping or put gas in their cars. They see the reality.

Some folks think the president is king and can do anything he desires. Inflation happened as we opened up from Covid lockdowns and spending went very high, and companies and real estate folks worked to make up for their losses. A president cannot control that. It didn't help that folks on the right were trash talking America as Trump does acting like everything is falling apart. It isn't. I remember the 70s and the 80s were not great.

People were happy about the Infrastructure Act and the American Rescue Plan and the Build Back Better Bill and the Safer Communities Act. Many were happy to see NATO strengthened and that the US was backin the Paris Climate Agreement. But then the house went to the Republicans, who expected a big red wave but didn't get it, and pretty much everything stopped. That was not Biden's fault.
His numbers have gone up since he stepped down from running. It is what many Dems expected of him.

It looks as if you are saying that it’s the Republicans’ fault that Harris’ numbers were so bad prior to July.

Just in part. There are multiple reasons.
