Some series are REALLY bad like this, but I thought the dubbed Full Metal Panic was GREAT!

yet oh so different. I actually prefer dubbing. I think it's easier than having to read the bottom of the screen to know what people are saying. Although some series jsut have embarrassingly bad voice acting.

Like Weiß Kreuz, which is almost painful to watch (the outtakes are great, though).

If I had to pin it down on certain licensing companies, Bandai and Pioneer/Geneon tend to release the best dubbed tracks. I know, the dubbing agency's aren't necessarily affiliated with the licensing company, but the better licensing companies obviously make sure their dub tracks are at least half decent.

well reading subs is a bit annoying at first, but you get used to it...and usually you can just skim it...i just prefer the authenticity of subs...plus they don't cut out parts like the dubs do

I think ADV does a GREAT job dubbing.

I don't know about their newer releases but ADV's older material (*cough* Generator Gawl *cough*) is pretty bad, too. Not to mention quality control wasn't anywhere near top notch either. Of course, I also got mad at them not preserving Eva Renewal's Pulldown Flag, so take that as you will.
