I am afraid of snakes, but only the poisonous ones... I've had friends with the big boa constrictors and such, and they were actually almost kind of cute... but rattlesnakes, cobras, etc... they scare me.

I can't say I'm afraid of spiders, but I hate them... I've spent quite a bit of time living in Nevada in a rural desert town where there was a large Black Widow population... and I've almost been bitten several times.

I've known people who are terrified of frogs, mice, spiders, and even worms (of any kind). They say they know those things are harmless, but it's just some irrational fear deep inside... Are there any animals you are afraid of?
I agree on the maggots.............yukky

Someone mentioned poisonous snakes - that I can understand. I saw a rattle snake in our yard this summer, and was "smart" enough to come close to see whether it was dead or alive (it was stretched out in the sun, and not moving). It rattled at me, and I walked away, grateful that the snake wasn't in the aggressive mood...

Rats. I just hate them. They carry diseases and eat chicken eggs.
Not all rats carry disease. If they are raised as pets, they are great! I have two as pets. They are very friendly, and pretty intelligent. As a pet, I usually describe themselves as a cross between a cat and a dog. They actually play with you, and not on you(like hamsters). They know their name, and will come(for the most part) when you call. They are constantly cleaning themselves, and easily trained using food. They will do anything for a treat.
