  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Today I devoted my self to silence and observation. As I walked down the hallways of my high school, I started to take note of how my fellow classmates communicated and talked with others. It was if I could literally draw a line and separate people as lonely or content. I have always been absorbed with my self, my own problems, and my own loneliness that I forgot that other people may be experiencing the same thing or worse.

It was really interesting as I listened to what God had to say. I think I’m coming out of a phase of my life and coming into a more mature, loving, and spiritual person. It’s taken me a long time to get where I am today, and I am just now seeing the hopelessness, loneliness, and desperation in the people around me.

Not everyone is as fortunate as me. I am pretty lucky! It’s true that I sometimes wallow in my own selfishness and through my own pity-parties because I don’t have the greatest friends at my high school but other people have circumstances that I couldn’t even handle. I go to school with students who literally don’t know where they are going to sleep tonight. Some don’t even know who their real fathers are. Some are abused, some are poor, some are depressed and some hurt themselves. What a dark world I live in! The circumstances these students are enduring is not their fault! They did nothing wrong! Even if they did, more than likely, they didn’t even know better.

So, as I spent my day in observation, as I was brought into absolute humbleness. I became extremely grateful for what God has provided for me; and I gave God thanksgiving. How is your life? What about the people around you? What are their circumstances?

This really hasn’t been very spiritual but more practical. I do believe that this realization was of God and that He was trying to speak to me in this area today. I think God wants to speak to you today also. God wants to wrap His arms around you and let you know that You are His; but he also wants us to wrap our arms around others and lead them to the Father.

We are to be a light in the dark world. We hold more cards and have more power and influence on other’s lives than we know… it’s scary. Therefore, let’s use that influence for the glory of God, and maybe this world won’t be so dark.
