Any sea bed (a portion of any size & of your choosing) might have risen to WITHIN 22 feet, of the waters surface, at the height of the FLOOD, as a plateau, and your little marine friends might have been saved in that way. They might have clung to a whale or floated in debris. We can also equate that if the entire surface of the earth was smooth, and the sea bed were even with the land that the oceans and seas ALONE contain enough water to inundate the entire surface of the planet earth to a depth of 3 miles. It is just a matter of mathamatics..... The salinity and freshness varied from area to area, as it can now.depending on what the fountains of the deep represented.....

When tectonic plates fractured and a bulge in the earth's surface may have been created. Also, one plate simply could have slid under another....

I feel, just as the deep sea diver, fish were able to adapt to changing environmental conditions over time. The diver must come up slowly or he will likely die. Salmon move from salt to fresh water. Has an experiment ever been done? I hate the heat and yet by August , it isn't so bad. I can't stand the cold, but by February, it isn't so bad...
