  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The great salt bed's weren't shaken up before the Flood, so there was no salt water untill the Flood. And the original Fish kind micro-evolved to be able to sustain itself in salt water afterwards.
Hey, Grengor!

i know its confusing, since parodies and real creationists are hard to discern (poe's law in action) but do we really not know who is who around here? Grengor was joking...

Thank you. Perhaps (I see your flag icon) you might sympathise with the idea that men pre split may have wickedly shared chromosones with chimps? I mean already up there, they have same sex marriage, guess it isn't such a stretch?

Micro-evolved to survive in salt water? Not too mention hundreds of very specific environments that are somewhere in between. How? That's a pretty major change, right there.
Yes, piece of cake! You see all species of say, tigers came from the one pair on the ark, etc as well. The world was so different (spiritual and physical) that this was par for the course then. So, for a century after the flood, the world was still merged, leaving ample time for fish to adapt. No problem at all.

Was it supposed to be fresh water, salt water, or brackish water?
In the flood itself, I don't really know. I assume there were areas of greater salt concentrations. But I have heard it was largely fresh, or brackish. Why? Wondering what the ark folks drank for the year?

So, was the global flood water supposed to be fresh, salt, or brackish?

This should be fun! :)
from what I read recently (gotta keep saying it, since I'm not sure I'm going to end up believing it, but this is how I think I read it):

The flooding was a side effect, natural happening, following the deluge (of atomic proportions) that destroyed all creations, life, and broke apart the pangea, creating our continents.

After the earth was habitable again, they recreated the sea life... apparently salt in salt, fresh in fresh and brackish in brackish

How's that?

Going with the idea that the fish quickly evolved to their new environment. How would fresh water fish adapt quickly enough to the changing salinity of the water? After the waters went away, how did they then quickly re-adapt to how they are now?

Saying they were recreated seems to be the only possible answer besides claiming that noah built aquariums into the ark. But, really, what happened to the fish is only one of many issues I have with believing the whole flood story.
