  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've been struggling a bit lately, with my walk with the Lord, just feeling like I need more fellowship, as that's where a lot of growth comes from.

:wave: Hi David! I'm in Alberta (red-neck country), so not near you, but amazingly, my family and I were just in Minnesota a few weeks ago!!! We visited my husband's family in Manitoba, then drove into Minnesota through to Longworth (wanted to go down sooner, to Roseau but my husband was driving. Party pooper.) We had really limited time, but we wanted to drive the "Lake of The Woods" area, so went on to International Falls (Duluth was unfortunately not on the agenda, hopefully next time, so we can see the Lake too). We stopped often all along the way, checked out the sights, met fantastic, friendly and helpful Americans :hug: ( I travelled a lot in the US growing up and have never met (many) Americans I didn't like.
The next day we made our way back into Canada (that is the wierdest border crossing I've ever seen----through mill the grounds??? with a $9.- CND toll booth???) Okaaaay. But praise the Lord there was a Tim Horton's waiting for us on the other side! And a WalMart???!!! We saw not one on the US side, is this a takeover?! :eek:
I WISH we'd have had more time and next time we make a trip to Manitoba, we've all agreed we'll travel through the States rather than across Snore-skatchewan (Saskatchewan and Manitoba have the most boring stretches of highway created) and definately will do some fishing in Minnesota, land of more boats than I've ever seen in my life in one place.
