And they should remain clothed until after the wedding ........MOOD HAT ON.
Thread now clothed at OP's request.
I guess we were way ahead of the curve. We did "courtship" back in the 1970s. (Josh Harris who kicked off the trend was still a pre-schooler)I don't relate at all to this modern fad of "Christian courtship". It's quite puzzling. Is the bride's virginity guaranteed? Is her father offering a dowry? I laugh every time I see some silly book or blog about "Christian courtship". It's just insane.
Um, "courtship" historically didn't really require the man to be a virgin in a lot of cases. The idea of it just bugs me, you know?No emphasis on proving the woman is a virgin (and what about the man?)
I don't know why they can't just call it "Christian dating" or some such then. That's way less pretentious than "Christian courtship" in my opinion. And it's a least a bit more accurate. "It's a type of dating where the participants keep their clothes on!" Pretty simple definition, really, and it doesn't require writing some fruity little book about outdated (and typically one-sided) notions of "chivalry" or some such.just 'dating' in a nice, Christian way.
Because dating is all on the couple.I don't know why they can't just call it "Christian dating" or some such then.
