I can't believe it will literally be the Roaring 20s again, in less than 36 hours from now. I still vividly remember this decade beginning when I was at Medieval Time's 2010 New Year's Eve party as a 14 years old, just old enough to work at some real, gainful, part-time jobs. Almost a decade later, I'm 24 with full adult rights and responsibilities that I've gained as the decade passed. I also remember at the middle of this decade, starting on my path to, and later being, a serious Christian from a nominal Catholic. While for most people, it seemed to have gone quickly, for me, it kind of feels this decade lingered and lasted on for ages.
I know that this very same decade will be marked and remembered for smartphones, other touchscreen gizmos, mass shootings, ISIS, hurricanes, typhoons, earthquakes, economic rollercoasters everywhere, Avengers, memes, Facebook, and Twitter, funky music like Party Rock Anthem, enchanced CGI movies, VR, trends for young people, Obama, Trump, even a scare of the end of the world in 2012, etc.
I noticed that every time the year (or decade) is about to end, like now, I read and hear from many people saying that this year (or decade) is crazy. But each year, or decade, has it's own triumphs and challenges. One thing that hasn't changed and is getting worse is society's hostility towards other Christians: ISIS killing Christians who refused to convert, the Umpqua College shooting in OR in 2015, and the shooting death of Christina Grimmie, a faithful Christian singer.
This upcoming decade of course, may be just as wild as this one, just with many differences. However, what we Christians, know what can happen next decade is the Rapture, which may go on any minute now. Today, this upcoming decade, or 100 or 5,000 years from now. While some Christians say, that End Times will show this decade, we should be prepared any time now.
