I don't think he is an atheist either really, I think he is upset or frustrated... with God.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I see so many people on these forums say things like .." I used to be a Christian , now i'm not, and I feel so free, and liberated yada yada yada..."
Its because they couldn't handle it . Once you make a sincere effort to ask Jesus to save you , bells and sirens go off in hell , and you will be under a spiritual attack basically for the rest of your life . Satan and all his demons tailor a plan to destroy you , to deceive you , and to get you to walk away from Christ . The sad thing is it works with most people.

I think those demons you are talking about are illusions like big black poofs of air... you walk through them and they disappear... that's how it is for me anyway.

The question at hand is about God addressing the entire world in an audible voice etc. etc. I asked your opinion of what would happen if he did this. Directing me to a diagram, or asking God what would happen if he did this doesn't answer the question.

True; we did get off topic for a while when somebody asked about my previous christian beliefs; and I answered them, but that's not what this fourm is about!
Unfortunately when I answered the question it seems everybody and their mother shifted into "conversion mode" and started playing "convert the atheist" a game I have no intrest in playing.
No my friend, you didn't answer my question; you spent a lot of time trying to convert me.

I don't refer to myself as an atheist either; I refer to myself as a skeptic. but I realize most people do refer to me as an atheist becasue I don't believe in God.

so is that considered an agnostic? I can't ever remember what all the titles mean. I don't think people should 'beleive' in God... to me that sounds like a fairytale. I think it's a decision that you make to live your own life as one who personally beleives there is a connection to something much bigger than themselves. The force of life itself, knowlege, wisdom... AKA God. It's not a group thing IMO. You seem irritated with the buttinsky's that want to direct what you must do and think. I don't blame you... that's why I am trying to get you to find your own answers. That is the way it must be IMO.

I hear Christains use this saying out of context in this way. Jesus was an Essene Jew, and they didn't beleive in proselytizing. Jesus was speaking to his Pharisee listeners when he said this. It is out of context here. IMO, you should not be angry and use these words of Jesus to harm someone. Be Blessed.

Yeah, I think the problem is that people that have faith sense the devil/ bad situation and they start getting all freaked out..'Satan's after me because I'm a Christian!' It's like paranoia..

I just don't think God is as involved, or the devil, in every situation as people may think... like if you stub your toe, the devil didn't make it happen. You just stubbed your toe.

But, I do think that the positive energy of God permiates all things, and you can tap into it when you want to. Kind of like the collective unconscious mind. I think that is a part of God.

Jesus was a Jew of course, but He was also God, His teachings were not that of the religious, He is the New Covenant, His teachings are of love and grace...
but Jesus also demonstrated righteous, and punishment for the wicked, Jesus disrupted the temple, when people were selling and buying, whipping them, telling them to leave. Jesus called the Pharisees evil names, and the apostles taught us that those who do not except the gospel are cursed.
Funny, you will except Kens insulting behavior toward those who are only trying to help save his soul, but yet you call me out, and tell me I am wrong for my reply, I think I will listen to the Holy Spirit, and not Reine.
I expressed love and concern for Ken 3 or more times, and he knocked me down, so I will no longer cast pearl (the good news of Jesus) at swine, and will dust my feet, as Jesus says, and leave this discussion

If you research it you will find that the teachings of Jesus most certainly did fall within the perameters of the Essene Jews that called themselves the son's of light. Jeus told his disciples to go spread the good news, and not argue with people in a way that is insulting. I am sorry, but I cannot go along with that. Jesus brought grace, but the teachings on Love was already in place. The new teaching that Jesus did bring to love, was when he said love your enemies. Love God and Love your neighbor had already been taught before Jesus came. I think that being intentionally goading and insulting is disfunctional and that Jesus would also agree. I fail to see how continuing this is in Ken's benefit for salvation or personal growth that may one day lead to salvation. I don't think you are listening to the Holy Spirit or the teachings of Jesus. Sorry to have to disagree. I am sticking up for Ken in this instance so he can understand that all Christians are not so unkind.
