  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I love westerns but outside of Bonanza, dont get any of the old ones (basic cable tv). Used to watch Rawhide as a kid (Rowdy Yates!), Gunsmoke (Festus was my favorite), The Rifleman, Branded (remember that one?), F Troop, I remember Wagon Train, Maverick and my all time favorite as a kid was High Chapparel. dont know why but I loved that show.

Now, for western movies, I do have a growing collection of that. Just got Lonesome Dove (the mini series) the other day at Wally World. The one I really enjoy is Open Range with Duvall and Cosner and the lovely Annete Benning!

Does anyone like westerns?

Here are some good ones worth watching the reruns of: Paradise, The Young Riders, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, Bonanza, and Rifleman.

I love westerns. Old reruns, and new. I wouldn't have minded living back in that era.

I used to watch Young Guns and Medicine Woman as a teenager.
I also used to try to watch some western as a child, probably came out in the early to mid 80s. I can't remember the name of it, but during summers I wanted to wake up early enough to watch it, but I would oftentimes wake too late (to watch the whole show)  . It came on basic broadcast (NBC, ABC, or CBS), probably about 9, 10, or 11 am. Anybody know the name of it?
I don't watch the reruns of Young Guns (they actually have reruns playing now?) and Medicine Woman (That has reruns too?).
But I do watch Little House on the Prarie reruns from time to time. That is really cute!
I also like a number of colorized western movies.
