  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

well go ahead. :)

I met my husband (I need to get used to saying that LOL!) at a church thing for students and young adults. He'd just moved here for his studies, he didn't know anyone and I was one of the first people he got to know here. I then again liked his accent the first time we met and was kinda sad since I thought he'd change it quite soon - well now everyone else speaks like him LOL. :D

Anyways we ended up being together and got engaged in August and then married on New years eve. :)

Congratulations and many blessings for both of you! My husband and I are coming up on 10 years this June.. It is a blessing to be married ~ my husband is my very best friend! (most of the time, lol)

Have you ever gone rock climbing?

Tink: I don't have a TV, so I watch it very rarely. Mostly if there's something special going on while I'm visiting either my parents or my mother-in-law.
God is love is God: Thanks! It's been a blessing for us as well! I've never been rock climbing, I'm afraid of heights!

Wayyy back in the olden days of the mid '90s one of my all time favorite cds was (and still is actually) "Tales from the Thousand Lakes" by Amorphis. The lyrics from the album are taken from or based on the "Kalevala" which was described as "the Finnish national pole book". I have wondered about this forever. What is a national pole book?

I didn't realize your question was there until now. Sorry for skipping it! I've never heard the term national pole book either LOL. :D Maybe it's like about the same then national epic?

Yep, it is the same I am pretty sure. I don't know what a national epic is either though. :p

What's the longest book you've ever read?
Well if the Bible counts as a book then that... :) Well as for others, I'm not quite sure. Some of the Harry Potter books were really long in Finnish, like around 1000+ pages, so maybe them.
Do you collect anything?
At least not intentionally. :sorry: Some stuff tends to just pile up though: like we always have a lot of tea... And then there's stationary, especially paper stuff! I'm really bad at using up notebooks but I won't throw them away until the last page is filled LOL. :D I've been trying to not do it though so I'm not sure if it counts as collecting.

I am the same way with paper stuff! I have 3 kids. All in school, and I am also an artist, and I write a lot, so by nature they do too. Since my oldest (she is 9) could hold a pencil, she has written on anything she could find - from old receipts, to books, you name it, she has written on it! I still have all of that as well! I absolutely refuse to throw away anything they have written on! Put that together with my stuff, and well, you can probably imagine how much I have. Boxes and boxes, not to mention piles and piles of paper. My husband calls it "hoarding".. I call it "memories".. :)

What is your absolute, all time favorite COLOR?

What is the strangest thing you've ever eaten?
I'm really bad at tasting new foods, and especially ones that would count as weird. I think I tasted chinese for the first time when I was in middle school (around 14-15 years old) LOL, and kebab a year ago! But the oddest thing I've had so far must be reindeer pizza. :p It was quite nice actually!

LOL yeah. :D They're definitely memories. I threw away some of my old school exercise books but then I've kept about all of my letters from like first grade on! I sometimes read them and every time I laugh because they're so hilarious. :D

i really like all colors but I think dark blue is nicest!
