I dreamed I was walking through a neighborhood that was just being built, and instead of beautiful new homes, all the houses on the lots were dwellings that had been ripped off their foundations somewhere else and transported to this place. One home was an older craftman style home that needed to be updated, and one was a newer home that had crumbling walls at the bottom because it didn't have any foundation or slab to give it stability, and one was a brick home that had had an attached garage at its old location, but had been moved without the garage and just a stub of a wall was left sticking out where the garage had been. The streets were gravel and the lots were all muddy. I felt sorry for the people who owned the homes because none of them was safe to live in, they were suffering badly from being moved.

In the same dream, nice people came to my house to drop off boxes and boxes of Bibles, and they gave me a pictogram of the nativity. When I asked themt o explain it to me, they pointed to each picture and told me what it meant. When they got to a picture of a reclining woman, they said that was Mary, God's first wife. I was very alarmed and made a mental note to read each and every book they gave me so I could check for heretical ideas like that one.

So, what's this mean?

I did just sell my house and move about a month ago, but none of these houses were mine and it wasn't even my neighobrhood in the dream. I knew it wasn't my neighborhood or my houses.

I believe, since they were part of the same dream, that the foundation-less houses sitting in the mud and the weird idea that Mary was God's first wife have to have something to do with each other.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but does it have to mean anything? I had a dream where there was some kind of a church service where they had an elaborate stage show, with puns, and actors, and it was called something like "Communion: Extended Dance Remix". And I might attribute more meaning to it, but frankly, all my dreams are about that weird, and I don't normally assign meaning to them... But then, maybe you're feeling led to seek meaning in it.

One thing I find interesting about this is that each of these homes would have had a different foundation. So, if we consider these by analogy to the parable of the house built on sand... Each house had a different foundation. I know that many people I know have different ways of finding faith in God; one person finds it in a church, another in the Bible, another in direct experience or prayer. So, if I were going to try to assign meaning, I'd wonder whether this had to do with peoples' faith being ripped from the foundation it was built for. For instance, if someone's faith is rooted in their belief that the Christian church (or possibly even the Catholic or Orthodox Church, say) is authoritative and teaches the truth, trying to take that away from them just so their house could be moved onto the lot for another church... Maybe that's not so good.

This is something I often wrestle with in debates among believers. If I convince someone of a theological position which is technically correct, but makes no salvific difference, at the expense of the thing that allowed him to hold his faith, I have done him no favors.

I have WEIRD and strange dreams all the time, sometimes i see deeper meaning, sometimes i think i need my meds checked lol

I also have had many dreams where i am battling demons, I am strong in the gift of descernement/descerning spirits. i have been able to sense when someone was being oppressed and approached them asking them about having a problem with something specific i felt they were struggling with and been right on target and they would aways ask me later, after i asked them, and they got it resolved, "how did you know?" I give God full credit for it. I also have always been able to read people, know if they are good or not, can be trusted or not, etc.....as all things come from god or satan..... good or evil... and decerning spirits means you can identify evil and do spiritual warfare..... i feel that demons cant possess a christian but it can influence them. opress them tempt them.. etc.... Its just my purpose in the body of Christ...and God has used me to help people and i am grateful he uses me.. (BTW i am in no way am claiming i have any kind of powers etc like the secular world would think of it..... its a spiritual gift, plain and simple. We all have stronegr gifts)

Anyway i digress... in these dreams i am doing spiritual warefare and they ALWAYS try and tell me i have too little faith to fight them....
but eventually i win the battle and often they melt or their face melts when defeated.. which is bizzarre.
its very phsycially and emotionally distressing for me evne after i wake up.

i wake up exhausted and feeling like i had been battling very real evil....

PS.
I hope i am not freaking anyone out... some christains dont understand or know about spiritual warfare and decernment

Yes, while I was dreaming it, I was thinking that I would have to remember it so I could find out what it means. I studied each situation so I could remember it clearly so I could decypher the symbolism when I woke up.

I think I've been to that church.

If it is something that doesn't lead to salvation, no you have done them no favors. But if their belief is keeping them from having saving faith in Christ, then yes, I think you have to point it out.

On, the contrary, I find it uplifting to know that I'm not the only one who has dreams dealing with fighting demons...

I thought I was the only weird one

Yeah. But say I know someone in whom Christ is clearly working, and he believes, say, in the authority of the Catholic Church. Now, I disagree with him about that, but... I can judge by fruits, and I know that Christ is working in him.

If I try to convince him that the Church's authority is in fact empty, I risk breaking something on which his faith rests. Maybe it's not the ideal foundation, but if it's been getting him to trust Jesus, then maybe I should let it be... You see my idea?

I just thought it was interesting to look, not at the houses, but at their foundations; all of those houses were stable on their foundations, but when they were torn from them to bring them all together, they were separated from their foundations.

I'm not sure that's what it means, but that meaning will stay with me as a way of thinking about sheep-stealing for a long time.

I think anyone who is trusting in the authority of their church instead of the authority of Christ should have that faith broken, because it is a faith in a human institution instead of in the living God, regardless of what church that is.

I just thought it was interesting to look, not at the houses, but at their foundations; all of those houses were stable on their foundations, but when they were torn from them to bring them all together, they were separated from their foundations.

Yep, I got that. It was the moving that destroyed the houses, and they might have been all right if they had stayed were they were, but I got the distinct impression that the owners desired the move, and not that they were moved against their will. The owners had arranged for the move themselves, it was not coerced. They seemed to think that having the old house in a new location would make their houses better. They didn't even seem to consider that moving them might destroy them. I don't know what foundation they had at their original locations, and it may be that they were worse off not moving than moving.

I'm not sure that's what it means, but that meaning will stay with me as a way of thinking about sheep-stealing for a long time.

Well, I'm glad you got something out of my dream!

I think it might have to do with moving but not being set on a foundation, and something about the idea that Mary was God's first wife being like a house set on a lot with no foundation. It seems to me not that it is wrong to change denominations, but it is wrong to convert to a denomination that doesn't have a Biblical foundation. I'm not considering such a move, nor do I know anyone who is, so I'm still up in the air about what this dream means.

Hi...I have alot of dreams and "most" of them have some kind of meaning to them. I usually ask the Lord for an interpretation and He shows me the deeper meaning . Sometimes... however the dream is just your memories playing back again. You need alot Alot of discernment for dreams..otherwise they may take down a wrong path. Anyway... The first dream you had does have to do with foundations and false mind sets. Alot of people are building their faith on false lies and realizing that the truth is not what they thought it was...thus the nice homes, old homes, brick homes... become disheveled and come crumbling down. Kind of like the man who built his home on the sand, and the other one who built his home on the rock. People are searching for the truth and it isn't being found in buildings. The buildings are falling down too. Anyway...the second dream is about faith and lies again. People have handed you bibles...lots of them, but they are also trying to deceive you. Since the bible represents a comfort zone for you, they are using that to distort your ideas of who the Lord is. Alot of people use scripture to benefit their own ideas and mis-represent the truth. Does that make sense? Anyway...hope this helps...Ahavah

Does it make sense that the houses represent families? Families falling apart because they move too much? Like migrant workers maybe? They move and don't think about putting down a foundation, stability that would keep their houses/families from falling apart?

Or families that neglect stability by not being consistent? Maybe families are moving too much with all the mandatory activites these days? But neither of those has to di with me, either.

I just googled the phrase "God's first wife," and it is a Hindu belief. Krishna is the god that has many wives.

I think the best way to approach this would be thru prayer. If this dream was sent by God, then I think he would also want you to know what it means. Thru prayer and maybe some Bible study you might find your answer.

But anyways, let me tell you about a dream I had about a month ago and I am still freaked about it.

I was walking into my living room and found my wife and mother in law talking. I said "hey" and they just ignored me. I wasn't much suprised. So I decided to go upstairs and check on my oldest daughter. I approached her room and could hear her talking. she was talking to me. "Daddy, me and Shelby (her best friend) did this today and this boy said this" I peeked in and she was sitting on the edge of her bed rocking back and forth talking to no one just empty space. I went in and asked who she was talking to but she did not even notice me there. This kinda upset me, so I decided to check on my other daughter. I went into her room and she was sitting on the floor playing with her dolls. She looked up, smiled and ran over and hugged me. She said "Daddy, I've missed you, where have you been" Just then my wife comes in and picks her up and hugs her and says" It's OK baby, Daddy's not here."

Tell you what, I woke up sweating. No way to go back to sleep.

Are you feeling like your wife and older daughter aren't giving you the attention they used to or that you would like them to? Does your daughter have friends that you don't know, people she talks to that you have never seen?

That might explain your dream as much as the more frightening interpretation of you being a ghost that only your younger daughter can see.
