  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

These women knew sex would happened and kept coming back for more. So they would get part in movies. And know they're playing the rape nonsense.

Would you allow your wife to go to the private appartment of her boss, alone?
And your attitude is why men believe they have justification to break the law.

virtue signaling? At your age?

That question is the first I asked when one of my daughters had to flee a person's apartment during a first date.

What was rule # 1 I asked? Women didn't just discover that men come in a range that goes from "Christ-like" to "predator." That range has been around for centuries or longer.

I have never been to my employer's home unless it was a Christmas Party. It would be strange for them to make the request. Further, I wouldn't go there if I new my boss had a history of sexually assaulting women, which it now seems to be the case with Weinstein.

Extremely stupid and dangerous behaviour of course does not excuse Weinstein nor can it be said to be a justification.

You attacked a strawman to virtue signal.
How about - Men - stop acting like neanderthals and stop raping. It's simple.

Off-topic a bit: After serving his sentence, I’m sure his career as a movie producer is over. But there are other jobs for a man who behaves badly around women. Like being a Supreme Court justice.

And Olympic team doctor.

I think that the MeToo movement is the best thing to happen to our society in a long time. The sexually predatory behaviors of men in our society has to stop. Maybe high profile examples like this one will finally start to change the tide. It's encouraging to me to see a complicated case like this put before a jury, and even more encouraging to see that they made the right decision.

My thoughts are - what was she doing in his appartment?
You can easily read up on what happened in most of theses cases. Weinstein required women to have meetings in his hotel rooms.

Does going to someone’s apartment equal consent for sex?

You know what is interesting, the OP said "thoughts"? And instead of simply giving your thoughts about the OP, you are trying to create a witch hunt just because I asked "my thoughts are: what was she doing in his private appartment".

Do you know why was she in his private appartment? Is it standard for young women to go to their boss' private appartments in the USA?
I’ve been to my boss’ apartment, and he’s been to my house. What is your point?

I wouldn't be surprised if that line of reasoning led the jury to acquit on the most serious charges... which is why he's looking at about 5-10 years instead of life.

Of course, given his age and failing health, it might end up a life sentence regardless.

And let's not forgetting that he is facing prosecution in other states.

Why do you defend a rapist?
Look up the phrase straw man.

It seems that you may not have all your faculties.

A 5-year old could have seen that I condemned Weinstein as EVIL.

Further, they could have determined that I supported a poster questioning why on earth would any woman who worked for a man like that (firstly why would any woman continue to work for someone who was such a pig)? So as I said this is not an either/or dilemma.

We can both affirm Weinstein is evil and ask of the woman, when you knew he had a history of sexual assault, why on earth did you continue to work for such an evil pig, and further go to his apartment alone???

Now put your parents back on and don't use the computer without their permission.

LOLOL Incoherent? You might want to rethink that user name.
A = Not A
Incoherent.

When I say Wienstein is evil due to his sexual assaults and someone says "How about - Men - stop acting like neanderthals and stop raping. It's simple." How are the two positions opposed? Please explain that.

I make no defense of rape or rapist, nor do I allow the foolish sweeping generalizations like all men are (fill in the blank).

I just shut down some liars. Those people out here who are willing to misrepresent someone else's (Solid_Core for one) posts. Liars who were virtue signaling to impress people. That is sick. Not as depraved as rape, but still morally corrupt.

I have yet to see a post that remotely supports sexual innuendo let alone supports rape, so anyone making the obviously false claim is a liar.

P.S. Apparently you have no idea what irony is, do you know the character pictured in my avatar

People, please read other people's posts before making comments that misrepresent those posts in the extreme. Solid_Core was falsely accused and I called that out. Hmm, for those Christians out here, do false accusations remind you of anything, perhaps an account found in any one of the gospels.

On an unrelated note, I wonder if members of the Sanhedrin were virtue signaling when they condemned Jesus as a false messiah? I wonder if their straw man attacks were unlike the misrepresentations we see on this thread? I wonder if Jesus was mocked for misspelling the word "apartment?" Maybe not that last one.

Harvey Weinstein found guilty in landmark #MeToo moment

Acquitted of the biggest charge, but still going to prison.

Thoughts?

Like Maddoff, he is being used as an "scapegoat" so that citizens will believe (because of the magnitude of his celebrity) there actually is justice for those who are abused, molested and raped by people in high places. He is the scapegoat for the entire movement, so it should be another 20 or so years before someone comes out and actually gets to see their abuser's due justice - especially an abuser in high power positions.

The visual matters more to humans than the follow through, since our attention spans will have us back to our regularly scheduled programming in a week. Or, there will be something else to distract and misdirect the public.

Weinstein owed a debt he wasn't willing to pay, that is why he is being sold out. Otherwise, he would have never been used as a path for this paradigm of Me Too. They could have used Spacey many times over, and chose him to be the scapegoat. But Spacey isn't a big enough resonance to satiate the public.

The Weinstein case is for our entertainment. He is a scapegoat to distract us from the myriad of abuse crimes committed by others in and around his position of power - As well as laws passed, upheaval in the world and natural disasters. Basically it is a good show to distract the world from what is coming, and yet already here.

So this case and the Madoff case were just grand conspiracies? Scapegoats are by definition not guilty. Is that your claim?
