I know, I know, thirty minute (or 20 if you play things at 1.5 speed like me) video and everyone is used to 30 second soundbites. However, if you can stick it out, he explains whete the alt-right came from, and what is causing their growth.

This is why I have always warned against identity politics of any kind.

I enjoy the comments on the site, mostly those from the alt-right people who declare their unsubscription because SoA for once didn't sing a song to their favorite tune.

He's never sung their tune, but thanks for trying anyways.

I am very interested in where he lies in this video. Please let me know.
This video? No idea. I haven't watched for about a year and a half once I watched him and realized he was misrepresenting a study to suit what agenda he wanted to push. 30 minutes is a lot of time for me to listen.

It’s fun—a macabre sort of fun—this parlor game of “Who Goes Nazi?” And it simplifies things—asking the question in regard to specific personalities.

Kind, good, happy, gentlemanly, secure people never go Nazi. They may be the gentle philosopher whose name is in the Blue Book, or Bill from City College to whom democracy gave a chance to design airplanes—you’ll never make Nazis out of them. But the frustrated and humiliated intellectual, the rich and scared speculator, the spoiled son, the labor tyrant, the fellow who has achieved success by smelling out the wind of success—they would all go Nazi in a crisis.

In other words, you are using an ad hominem to dismiss something that may be inconvenient to your worldview. Gotcha. 80% of the video is just quotes from the alt-right people.

No, I'm using previous behavior to save myself a half hour of my time.

I agree with you about why the alt-right rose up. I'm not a fan of identity politics. But if you are so worried about identity politics you become what is typically spewed out by the alt-right, you were already leaning that way to begin with. Nobody magically becomes that.

At the 9:15 mark, he's already misrepresented the alt right as equivalent to BLM. One chants "Black lives matter", the other chants "White lives matter", difference is only a "hair's breadth".
No. Alt right also chants "Blood and Soil", and "Jews will not replace us." I've never heard BLM say such things. I call that significant misrepresentation.

Then you must save a lot of time by never watching the news. I have no idea if he's misrepresented studies in the past or not. I don't watch all of his videos and I don't subscribe to the channel. Unless you can argue that he is misrepresenting the footage from the alt-right, you are simply poisoning the well.

At around the 25 minute mark, claims that Muslims and Hispanics that go to bed terrified of violence against them is simply caused by the media, and is not a real threat. However, violence against Muslims and hispanics for their ethnicity and religion has increased dramatically this year. In fact, violence has increased dramatically.

He is referring to the report that they were afraid that the government, under Trump, would doit.

@LoAmmi I apologize if I was too harsh, but the last couple of days, you have ignored anything that I have posted, except to accuse me of thinking that Sanders, etc. want to bust a cap in some people's backsides, and when I denied such absurd ideas, your only response was a backhanded compliment that I wasn't as much of an extremist as you thought. This, despite my denouncing of all forms of violence Do you perhaps see why I find your vague, uncited accusations and dismissal less than innocent? @jardiniere may disagree with The Video Entirely, but I can at least respect that he based his Response on the argument presented.

"What do we want? Dead cops!" "Fry them like bacon."

Cops are self selecting*. Jews and blacks, not so much. Thus, those quotes you (just guessing here) purport** to be from BLM are not equivalent to "Jews will not replace us", or "Blood and soil." So I will still claim the "no particular difference" is wrong and the video is misrepresenting facts.

Need something common from antifa or BLM that shows they want to exterminate or dominate a racial or ethnic group, or believe that they have the right of ownership of a piece of land.

*determine one's own status with regard to membership in a group

**never heard or seen video of this happening, btw

For some reason the original post disappeared. He is referring to the report that said they were afraid of Trump doing this.

You have said many times that you detest progressives and socialists, so I didn't think it was much of a leap when you said something about socialists wanting to harm people you meant those who identify was socialists as wanting to do that.

Sargon says the alt right knows the media has helped the alt right by instilling fear in hispanics and muslims ?
The government is deporting law abiding hispanics, jailing hispanic citizens accused of being illegal immigrants and attempting to create a government list of all Muslims, and violence against both groups is rising. They aren't afraid of a Trump bogey man, they are afraid of policies in place and policies proposed by this government. How did the media become at fault for their fear of that?

I never said that I despise socialists or progressives. I said that I loathe the ideology, and I do. I don't have any love for any sort of authoritarian thought, which is what progressive ideology is when you strip away the feel good terms and warm, fuzzy feelings. I also detest similar ideologies on the other side of the spectrum. I am an old-fashioned liberal who believes that while we need a government, we would be foolish to give it too much power over the individual. I don't support BLM because of the radical roots, which leads to ever increasing violent and damaging behaviour, but I am for the demilitarization of the police and reform. I can oppose ideologies while loving and respecting the individual. I look at everyone first and foremost as a human being, and if I find something that they believe wrong, or even terrible, I believe in trying to come to a mutual understanding of each other.
