  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My weight...urgh! Yes! It is a daily struggle with me....used to be tiny, with a small frame...3 children later and my figure just isn't quite the same! pudge in places it just doesn't belong. I am only5'2" (barely) and weigh 144#...which puts me in the overweight/bordrline obese category. I dilike that label. I just want to be healthier and in better shape for me and my family. So, I have struggle in doing so for some time now. But, I will eventually get there...hopefully!:p

I need to lose about 15 pounds at some point in the future. I did extensive workouts for a while, but that really didn't get me anywhere so I'm just keeping track of what I eat and will hopefully lose it over the next 6 months or so if I don't break the rules too much.

Fortunately the medication I've recently starting taking causes me to want to eat less, so that's a bonus.

i am not at all happy with my weight bc i feel like my weight doesn't allow me to be who i really am, if that makes sense? i've always hated it. never struggled with it, bc i kind of don't care enough to do anything about it. i've been eating kind of healthier since i work for these doctors who are all about fruits and stuff, but today i ate so much and i feel like crap.

and i want to start going on walks because it's cheaper than going on drives, but i don't own any pairs of socks, haha.

i think about it every day... multiple times a day.

I'm not 'happy' with my weight.. but I just as frustrated if not more so about my attitude towards my weight and the motives behind wanting to lose weight. I find myself wanting to lose weight to fit in, to look better, to be more attractive, etc etc instead of remembering that our bodies are the Temple of the Holy Spirit and we are to honor God with our bodies. That should be #1!

1 Corinthians 6:19
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

I'm at the right BMI for my height, since I'm pretty tall, but I'd like to lose more. I'm really athletic so I find that even though my weight is "normal", I'd feel a lot healthier and fitter if I dropped some more pounds.
I try not to think about it much, but I do worry about going to the gym, and working it into my schedule.

I'm not overweight, though it probably wouldn't hurt to lose 10-15 pounds.

I really don't think about it all that much through. Just last I week I decided on a whim to weigh myself for the first time in Lord knows how long (really... it might have been a year since the last time), and discovered I actually lost about 6 or 7 pounds somehow.

No. I'm generally a small/2-4, largest size in Girls' in kids stores that run big; I'm also quite short though, so I've got short limbs as well. I know intellectually I don't need to lose weight, but if I had my way I'd 85 lbs. I don't really find big boobs all that attractive, so being up and down, 'flat as a board' isn't something that would break my heart.

Everytime I eat, I think about my weight. Then, I either decide to screw it and eat that calamari and feel like crap afterwards, or if I'm in public/eating with people I know (unless it's family), I go for the 'light' alternative. The worst days are the ones I think about my weight 10 or more times a day, or where I just feel fat and lethargic all day long, but they're (thankfully!) not everyday.
