  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

No, not happy. I'm 95 kilos, 6'2, broad shouldered and do a bit of weight training. I'd like to lose 5 kilos. I eat a very good diet(big on seeds, nuts, beans, wholegrains, vegies and fruit, low on everything else) in general, except I have one vice that makes it difficult to lose the slightly protruding gut - beer drinking.

I'm a size 12, 150 pounds and I am good with my body shape. I know that I am curvy but that doesn't bother me. I feel healthy and can do everything physically that I want to do.

I only think about my weight negatively when I am shopping for jeans.

I haven't always been this chill about how I look though. I spent a year on weight watchers when I was 16 and it just consumed me. I was always thinking about calories, and my weight and my body and how awful I looked. Then I basically stopped one day and said "screw it". I stopped obsessing over what I was eating, I never set foot on a scale again and suddenly, my whole outlook on my body changed.

Life is a whole lot better without an imaginary scale following you everywhere.

I will get real here I am usually a size 4-6 and am now to an 18 in womens. Well 1 is too snug 18 is kind of large. I weigh 198 pounds and am dieting and losing weight right now (8 pounds down so far). it does get to me which is why I am workng on it. I was very ill that I could not get up on my own for a long time. Doctors pressed me to gain weight as i was sickly and a size 0. Well now I need to lose it again! lol

I'd rather have the weight I do now though then when i almost died. I am stronger. I love myself ust I'd like to get down to 140 pounds or so.

I'm perfectly happy with mine. As long as it stays consistent I'm fine with it.

I do think too many people get obsessed with it though and it's unhealthy to think about it too much. Work to improve yourself but learn to be happy with the body God gave you.

Also while I'm on the topic I'd like to add that when I was very small people called me skeletor and mean names. That stuff hurts whether you are large or small or whatever. Thats why I have a fear of losing too much weight too. So for me it is a hurdle. Ok sorry to go on lol

I am generally pretty happy with my weight I know I will never be skinny but I am in alot better shape then where I was 4 1/2 years ago when I was 30lbs heavier and nothing but a couch potato.I think I could maybe lose 15-20 lbs to get in the right weight range for all those medical charts but really I am content I can do alot of things , I feel good where I am and I've been at my current weight for about 3 years now just maintaining it in a certain range .There are days when I get down where I think I am fat but who doesn't .

I'm ok with where I am at. If I never lost another pound it wouldn't be the end of the world. The important thing is that my health back on track. On Saturday my trainer said that even though I'm not the typical size associated with being "healthy" that I am strong and fit. The extra weight will come off with time. I'm trying to live an active and healthy life.

I don't think about it all of time. I feel great. Sometimes while clothes shopping it bugs me, but I also don't clothes shop often anymore. I'm losing weight fast enough that I don't stay in one size for more than a few months. So I just alter my clothes and when they get really baggy, I treat myself to a new shirt or new pair of jeans.

I'm quite happy with my weight. I rarely think about it, and I couldn't tell you when the last time I've been on a scale is. Actually, yes I could. It was part of a science experiment and it was measured in Kg so I don't know what it was anyway xD

Are you happy with yours?

No. I'll always be "overweight" by normal standards, and I'm okay with that, but I've got about 40 pounds of pure flab that I can get rid of.

How often do you think about it?
Whenever I do anything more active than sitting at the computer. Which isn't infrequent, since on a daily basis I take a couple of walks, work out, and maintain my church's exterior properties. Because I remember moving being easier than it is now, only a few years ago.

Eh yeah, though I do wish I had more muscles, so I guess I wish I was a little heavier. But I'm happy I'll never have to worry about fat for the rest of my life most likely. Though my insides are probably in horrible shape right now lol.
