  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

lol! For me -like as soon as the sperm and the egg unite!!

On average I think around 12 weeks or so...

I always found of the wieght gain tables useless. My weight gain has always come in fits and starts, and never ever fit a single chart I ever saw. I gain weight in my first trimester, wnd then very little in my second-- and then more in my third as the baby starts really bulking up.

The books say one thing but it really just depends on the woman. When I was pregnant with my daughter I didn't gain any weight until like the 6th month and then gained 42lbs total. With this pregnancy I gained weight quicker at the beginning but so far at 38 weeks have only gained 32lbs. So it just varies.

For me it was different with each pregnancy. With #1, I gained 10 lbs the second I got pregnant and then just looked fat for months. At full term I only looked about 6 months pregnant (I'd gained 25 lbs with that pregnancy.)

With my other pregnancies it was all over the place, but I generally started gaining early. My total weight gains ranged from 13 lbs to 45 lbs.

this is my first and I actually LOST 7 lbs up until my last appointment, where I gained six (at 21 weeks), so I am still in the negative by a couple (or one) lbs. It really worried me because I put SO MUCH emphasis on what the books and tables said and I just KNEW that I was hurting my baby. The doctor told me, though, that the baby was fine and to throw my book out the window LOL because every woman is different. My DH's grandma gained a minimum of 80 with each of hers....WOW...I think it just depends on the woman. I know I was sick the first 13 weeks and really weak, and slept a lot...and only ate once or twice a day cause nothing was staying down...so I am sure that contributed quite a bit. :)

i did kinda snicker when her husband was telling me and my mom about it, i just cant help but wonder how you gain that much weight! which i guess it depends on your metabolism and if you have to be on bed rest..but still...90lbs! i dont remember how much she gained with the next one..it wasnt that much tho.

I started gaining right from the start (no morning sickness, VERY lucky). I gained about 6 pounds in the first trimester, and I'm now at 18 pounds at 30 weeks. I'm actually kinda proud of that because I'm pretty overweight and I just think about chocolate and gain weight normally, so I think I've done quite well. But I've gained 4 pounds in the last 3 weeks, will see how much I'll end up gaining!

I'm up 42lbs from pre-pregnancy *but* I was underweight before I got pregnant. My doctor said he wanted me to gain 45-50lbs so I probably will if not more. I'm not worried about it because I'm only bigger in the tummy and boobs. I also know I'm not eating junk, well I do, but most of my calories are from food which offers the things I need and the things my baby needs so it's okay.

I mean if I can get 350 calories from a turkey sandwich and a glass of OJ, it's better than say chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. :p
