Weight Gain

How much weight did everyone gain during their first trimester and approximately when did you gain it? I'm at 10 weeks and my scale says I've gained barely any, maybe one pound, but I had to buy a bigger bra and my pants are tighter. I'm a little worried that I should be gaining more, but I'm not sure.

first trimester you don't really gain that much most of the weight is just shifted arround I think maybe I gained 5lbs... now last trimester (2nd) I gained about 20... almost afraid to go to the dr wednesday to hear her tell me to slow down the weight gain... I am close to 190 now... started out arround 161 or so...

With my first I didn't gain any weight until about week 20 then ended up putting on 42lbs total (8lbs 4oz baby). With my second I had put on about 10lbs during the first trimester with a total weight gain of 34lbs (9lbs 12oz baby).

As long as you are eating healthily your body will gain as much weight as it needs when it needs it.

I am at week 17 (Today ) and I have gained a total of 9lbs so far, most of it I gained in the first two months and then the last month I only gained one lbs.

But the doctor says because I am small, I wont gain a lot which she says is normal, but my bra size has already gone up, so I am down to one bra that fits and I wear a sports bra over it (helps so they dont hurt as much)

I didn't gain anything, I actually lost the whole first trimester and part of the second...but like you, my pants and bras were too tight in no time. It all shifts around and you expand...but I don't know how!!! lol...as long as your ob isn't concerned, I wouldn't worry myself over it. Of course, I worried my entire pregnancy because I only gained 16 lbs. and I just knew that I wasn't gaining enough, but I had a 7 lb.15 oz. baby boy and he is bright eyed and healthy so I guess it was alright!

I didn't gain anything until 19 weeks. Since then (I'm 33 weeks now) I've gained 20 lbs.

I definitely gained a bunch of weight my 1st trimester (I'm 13 weeks today): between 5-10 lbs.

Well it sounds like everyone gains differently, so I won't worry too much. Funny how I'm worried about not gaining enough weight! Lol!

LOL I was worried right up to week 37 when I lost another four and the doctor just kept reiterating to me that I was healthy and I was gaining as much as I needed to for baby...so I know it is really difficult not to worry...but try not to!

You're at ten weeks already? AWESOME! Wow, how the time is flying. I gained seven pounds by week 14. I think I'm around ten pounds now at almost 20 wks. It will be easier for us to take it off again later! *hugs*

I gained 5 lbs or so the first trimester but 53 by the end. You gain the most the last one. Eat healthy, take your vitamins and drink lots of water and don't worry about the pounds, you'll gain the amount your body was meant to.

I've gained about 24 or so pounds (i'm 39 weeks) but i didn't gain any the first trimester because I was throwing up all the time.

I'm at just under 15 weeks and so far i haven't gained any at all - Well i kind off have. Up til a couple of weeks ago i had lost around 5 pounds and since then i have put on 2 pounds so i'm still 3 pounds down!

I'm still the same bra size but my pant size has changed.

I'm not worried about the lack of wieght gain - everyone puts on differently

Well, the last appointment I'd gained a total of 18 pounds (first trimester) and tomorrow is my next appointment so I'll find out how much I gained... I wouldn't be surprised if it's another 5 pounds or so, I hope not. I have been a little more disciplined with my eating behavior.

It's normal to not gain weight in first trimester, as a matter of fact a lot of women lose weight due to morning sickness and still have healthy babies.

I have gained about 40 lbs. That's pretty normal for me... I usually gain about 10-15 lbs. first trimester.

OK, my pants do not fit anymore, so I went shopping and bought a pair that were two sizes higher than I normally wear, well they have gotten so big on me! So I think my rear is depleating!!!

And every thing is going to my chest! I have already gone up one bra size and cup size and I am only at 17 weeks!

My belly is getting a little bigger, not to big though, and it is starting to harden but there is still a little jiggle to it. It feels weird going from no stomach to having this little one hanging out in front of me!

But I am not really gaining any weight, its like my fat from my rear is covering the rest of my body!

oh i was exactly the same as you!
in total i've only gained 6 kgs which is about 13 pounds.

im now 30 weeks and lots of my friends at this point in there pregnancy had gained 20 kgs or more roughly 44 pounds.

my Doctor told me that as long as i was eating and not over exercising then i didnt have anything to worry about.

my whole pregnancy i've eaten whenever i wanted and whatever i wanted. some people just dont gain that much weight, esp if you were pretty well built to begin with.
