Weep Over Jerusalem?

Don't know why you and Hammster linked my post to God knowing the future. The Bible never teaches God wants people to reject Him. That's why names aren't added to the Book of Life, but are blotted from it.

Because you have a problem with election. Even though election happened before the foundation of the world, and every single person is born either elect or non-elect, you act like people who are born as non-elect can become elect before they die. You and every other synergist I've encountered on these forums have a problem with election.

Where do you find that names are blotted from the book of life? (And it's posts like this that lead us to think you might be an Open Theist).

I have no problem with election. The Bible teaches God chooses those of faith. Faith is a matter of personal decision. The Bible is clear about this.

I anticipated this response. I understand that you believe in conditional election. Please understand this. I know you believe God chooses on the basis of foreseen faith. That is not what we're debating right now.

Assuming God knows Bob won't believe, and God creates Bob anyway, Bob is born non-elect. There is absolutely no way Bob will ever be saved. Do you acknowledge this?

Please do not respond to this telling me Bob could've been saved. If you do I think I'll have a stroke.

Apparently God has a massive marker and eraser and is constantly editing the Book of Life to keep up with the decisions we're making...

But if He knows the future, why would He need the names of those He will blot out in the book in the first place? Why didn't He know?

Same thing I wonder about prevenient grace. Why does God give prevenient grace to and draw people he knows will never believe? Why not just focus on the ones he knows will believe? It seems in the synergist view God is really inefficient.

"And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book." Ex.32:33

All are written in it. Unforgiven sinners are removed from it.

Sorry, but that does not say it's the book of life. Is that all you have?

Apparently, or maybe you're just in without repentance, which also makes a threat by Jesus for not repenting meaningless.

No, because Bob was born elect as all humans are. and even though his ultimate end of casting salvation away is known by God, he still had the pick.

Fine. Bob couldn't have been saved and I'll have the stroke instead of you. :)

What book is it?

It doesn't say it's the book of life, and that's what we are talking about. If you need it to be the book of life, then we are all in trouble since whoever sins against God will be blotted out.

The difference is the issue and affirms my position. It seems you can only explain away Jesus' desire to save souls and not save them by splitting His nature, which actually answers nothing, because the mind of the Lord is the mind of the Lord, whether it's encased in flesh or not.

You obviously know not my views !

Okay. Did you find anything yet about being blotted out of the book of life?
Certainly.

He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. Rev.3:5

Do you think Jesus threat is an idle one?

The Bible writers clearly believed people can have their names taken from the Book of Life. Those of faith are safe.

May they be blotted out of the book of life
And may they not be recorded with the righteous. Ps.69:28

You're not going to argue with David...are you?

What threat? It looks like a promise to me.

So everything David said in that Psalm, concerning his enemies, came to pass? Is that your argument?
