  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I like the "Beautiful Day" idea too.
My brother and his new wife entered the reception to the theme of "Hockey Night In Canada" since she is a big hockey player. It was pretty cool.

I have no idea what songs we're going to use. I have been leaning to "Only Alive" by Jars of Clay. It's very sweet, simple and beautiful. Mind you I don't even know if we're going to have a reception. Since it's only a few months away I'd better get cracking.

Not really a dance song, but Longer by Dan Fogelberg. If by Bread. One that has a good example of how a Christian Man should think is Every Woman in the World by Air Supply. Another good one is You are so Beautiful to Me by Joe Cocker. My Destiny by Lionel Richie might work for some weddings. In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel is also beautiful, a good one to play but not necessarily a main song I think.

Though my favorite "dancing" song is Slow Dancing by Johnny Rivers.

I've wanted to walk down the aisle to 'Even When I'm Sleeping' by Leonardo's Bride. I also imagine the theme from Gladiator will be in there somewhere, as will Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Hawaiian Guitar version.

I love the idea of having a fun song to walk back down the aisle too.

I won't be having dancing, but I can imagine having 'Sway' by Michael Buble...

Another great song that popped into my head a couple of days ago that I haven't heard in years..."I Need You" by 3T.
Oooh I love that song. Was a big fan of theirs when I was younger....haven't heard anything new from them for at least 5-6 years now though.

(18) "When You Say Nothing At All"--can't think of who sings it

Ronan Keating

And for the ceremony I want "Canon in D"!

We had that one played whilst we were signing the register. It's a lovely piece of music.

Ohh I have always thought "Only Alive" was a fantastic one for that sort of thing. And I agree with Sascha, "Sway" with Michael Buble would rock!! The Leonardo's Bride song is pretty meaningful too.

I would love to have "I'm Kissing You" by Desiree somewhere in there too
