I wear one most of the time and there are times, when one's patience is pushed or something similar wearing the cross reminds me to behave like one of God's children. When you wear a cross even if you don't intend to do it you are representing christians and the world is watching especially if you slip up.

Why do you ask? Did you want to wear one?

I too wear one daily. I don't do necklaces though, so I have a cross ring. I don't think there is anything wrong with it...

It does annoy me to see someone wearing a cross behaving in a non-christian way... Cussing, rude, abusive, etc... I believe that if you are going to wear a cross to identify your faith that you should act accordingly.

I worked with a guy who spent time talking about the latest porn site he is subscribed to, all the women he is sleeping with and the latest drunken rave he attended... But then in the next sentence starts talking about what is happening at his church and how he is considering going into the ministry. It was very frustrating... He has since been fired for throwing a temper tantrum, breaking a door and threatening violence against a co-worker.

I have a cross on my ring that I wear.

The only problem in todays world with wearing a cross is that it has become meaningless.

Case in point I saw a picture recently of one Miss Paris Hilton. In it she was wearing a cross. Now I do not wish to judge the moral character of Miss Hilton too harshly but suffice to say I just don't think she is what I would call a modest, G-d fearing, Born Again believer. So what does the cross mean on her?

I don't wear a cross for a couple of reasons.

God was pretty clear on looking toward images. He wants His followers to look to HIM and not some fashioned piece of jewellary to remind us of HIM.

The cross (stauros) is where Jesus fulfilled his purpose for being here. IT is picturing his death and not his resurrection. (just a thought)

As humans we sure want all this 'stuff' to help us in our Christian walk. I don't want to offend anyone by stating my opinion, it's just that [sign]an opinion[/sign]

I sometimes wonder if Jesus died by a dagger if we would wear that around our necks?
or even a noose, would we wear that?

Do we need reminders and keepsakes.... well no, because we have His Spirit inside of us, He is not external but internal.

Actually, "nails" are also popular adornments on Christian jewelry. I thought about that, but, being a practical mother of three boys...I decided that wearing a nail around ones neck was just BEGGING for a jugular incident! LOL

I wear a very plain, weather worn cross with no adornment.

Here's a thought -- Paul wrote, "For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes" 1 Cor 11:26. As you say, a cross is "picturing his death..." Seems Paul thought that death was worthy of 'proclaiming.'

Hmm? I wonder why...

I would also mention that I wear an empty cross... Which, to me, symbolizes Christ defeating death. The empty cross reminds me that He is our living Savior.

I don't worship the ring... or look at it as idolotary... *shrugs* I don't believe there is anything wrong with it.

...is it okay to wear a cross? For instance, on a chain...or depicted on a T-Shirt?

What is the purpose of wearing the Cross? What are you saying with it?

Luke 18:9-14
9 He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and looked down on everyone else: 10 "Two men went up to the temple complex to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee took his stand and was praying like this: 'God, I thank You that I'm not like other people --greedy, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week; I give a tenth of everything I get.' 13 "But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even raise his eyes to heaven, but kept striking his chest and saying, 'O God, turn Your wrath from me --a sinner!' 14 I tell you, this one went down to his house justified rather than the other; because everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted."

wearing a cross does not reflect the wearers internal spiritual nature. In many many case the wearer may be displaying this symbol and openly disobeying the law or just plain being sinful. What a non believer sees is a hypocrit in some cases.

I just dont believe in wearing them or the importance of wearing one myself.

If you feel ok, than it's ok in other words.
