I want to let you know that it was NOT the pull cord that Cheyenne stranggled on. On the oppisite side of blinds there are 3 threads. If you pull on the middle thread, it is the same thread that the pull cord is attached to. IT DOESN"T MATTER if you tie UP the pull cord!!!!! THAT is what I did....I have engineers comming to my house on monday. The news will be doing a full story on this. The story will be on FOX2news in st. louis sometime this week. Not sure when they will air it. I am also going to get ahold of opera...she is a great news outlet. I am not sure if this type of accident with mini blinds has ever happened. I am going full throddle with this one. I must WARN ENVERYONE..they ARE NOT SAFE!!.

I cannot imagine...I don't even want to imagine what she must be going through.

Keep her in your thoughts and prayers, guys. This has got to be horribly, dreadfully hard for her.

I am crying too. I couldn't even imagine!

For safety measures, we bought these really neat cord wind-ups for our blinds. They keep the cords out of baby's reach. Before that, DH would cut them so high that and adult can barely reach them. Even with that, I'm always careful with Tommy around the blinds.

Yes, that's what it is. And they typically have a cord on one side, that is used to raise and lower the blind. If you place a child's bed or crib next to the window, the child can become entangled in the cord, and hang himself.

This is painful beyond words.

So incredibly sorry! You are truely wonderful.
If you need anything just ask...I'm here in St.Charles, MO.
I do licensed daycare...I'll bring it to the licensings attention as well...usually they just put the cord up and make sure they don't have lead...never heard of an accident like this. Truely devistating!
