We need some SDA moderators

I am confused, is this a place for adventists to discuss things, or is it a place for adventists to teach?

If the former, anything that is respectful should be allowed doctrinally wise, if it is the latter, then some elders/etc should be moderators and delete anything that isn't official church position.

This is a discussion board. It is a place for discussion. Teaching sometimes occurs through such discussion but it is not the primary purpose of the forum.

This certainly would be a more reasonable approach to the issue. However, you know just as well as I do that it usually doesn't work this way in here. Much of what she has said has been taken out of context. And I have seen certain people in here deliberately do things like this just to try to maintain their ground.

It is one thing to discuss things, and something entirely different to commit libel.

Furthermore, it is one thing to put up a post and sincerely question something that she has said, but something else entirely to put up a thread for the purpose of creating conflict. I know of one person that appears to have stopped posting in here that did just that (sought to create conflict). In my opinion such actions constitute spamming, and should not be tolerated in here.

Truth is, due to the highly sensitive nature of such topics, I think it would be best to leave them alone.

I think this is a good clairfication. Teaching is propagating the faith. discussion is examining and understanding the faith. big difference

Yes this is correct.

It's ok to express an opinion you hold. It's not ok to state it as if it's a fact.

oh my word. You did not just say that. what you are confessing is that you cannot handle an examination of the faith. Why? is it on shaky ground. If you can't handle question about EGW or the SDA faith for that matter then maybe you should not be here in the first place.

John, the point of this thread was to nominate others you think would be good to be a mod, if you're so keen on yourself being a mod visit here. Make sure you fit the qualification points, then fill out the application form.

The link is also displayed down the bottom right of every CF page, under the name "Be a Mod".

If you want a recommendation, from a mod, you need to be nominated by someone in this thread, then somehow told by erin74 to apply, otherwise go for it yourself. I would assume though that people with staff recommendations may have a better chance.

I do think you would make a good mod, as you're a regular member, let alone a veteran, and you arn't in arguments, you're more of a mediator.

Most of us got afew warnings when we were new and learning the rules. It says warnings will be checked. Don't worry about them if they were along time ago. If you're good now.....Also if they're just warnings and not points it shouldn't be too bad...
