We Get One Shot!

I'm not one to listen to rap music, but about 10 years ago Eminem put out a song called "One Shot." At least I think that was the title. Anyhow, the theme was, when we get our chance in life, make it count. It made me think about this verse in the Bible: It is appointed unto man once to die, but after this the judgement. Hebrews 9.27. We get one shot at doing things right down here and then we are judged on how well we did. Not my rules, God's rules. How are you doing?

I think time is on our side.
We have a long time to decide for God...unless we die very young. This would get into the age of accountability.

Of course, the longer we wait, the more time is wasted.

I am 59. When I was high school age some church friends and I visited a boy dying of cancer. He did not live to be 21. I have witnessed people dying at every stage of life. Sometimes all I can be certain of is I have today.

Since the Bible tells us that "God is not willing that any should perish, but that all come to repentance" in 2 Peter 3:9, and that "God wants everyone to be saved" in 1 Tim 2:4, I'm confident that He gives everyone enough time to seek and find. All the while knowing who will not even seek, nor find.

As for GG 101's comment about the age of accountability, that isn't in play, since Jesus died for all. So those who never achieve that age, will go to heaven.

Just saw this.
Sympathy for the Devil is not FOR satan but tries to bring our attention to him.

I'm not much for end times things...eschatology is not of important interest to me. Jesus will return when He returns.
Every generation has waited for Him, but I do agree with you that we're coming upon the end time.

We have just one life to blaze for Him.

Any gift of love given in His will is eternal.
God overflows with these gifts to us each day.

I have spent unbelievably long time learning approaches, one
step at a time. And now I see how my mind would lead me
down completely the wrong tracks because we are a whole being
mind, spirit and soul, a complete work of glory to His name.

So all we need to do is the next step and walk in His will.
There is no hurry, because He is the master craftsman.
He knows each word we will share and be.
And if you get into witnessing, teaching, sharing you know
the walk is long and slow and nothing can be rushed.

Jesus spent 30 years for 3 years of ministry which was
compressed into 7 days, with the pinnacle of the cross.

Getting things right, at the right time is His way and His
path. So know we walk with out King, Oh what a Lord
of Love and Help, His blessing without end, Amen.
