Hi everyone! I hope everyone is having a good day so far! :)

In Matthew, Jesus states that there will be many coming and saying they are Jesus in the last days.

Then, as he talks about the last days, he seems to tell them what's going to happen in the order its going to happen.

If we look and see there's not a lot of people saying they are Jesus and the fact that Jesus tells us the order all these things will happen, that should let you know that we are NOT in the last days yet.

My conclusion is that the world will end in 7000 years, or 7 seconds and that either is just as likely.

I always go back to this when someone claims to know:

Mark 13:32 (CSB): “Now concerning that day or hour no one knows—neither the angels in heaven nor the Son—but only the Father.

Personally, I don’t believe we’re living in the end times because the things that are happening around the world today are no worse than they’ve ever been in the past. Instead, they’re just more televised and advertised than ever before. But that’s just my opinion. :)

I don’t believe we’re in the last days. Nor would the Holy Spirit subject us to unnecessary hysteria. Overactive minds get carried away now and then.

Says you. I'm almost 70. I've seen the rot that has set into the world over the last 50 years or so especially. There are way too many people for the resources available for a start. There is already conflict over land and water in some countries. There is no way to increase amount of inhabitable land to keep up with the birth rate. Something has to give.

Gee, is it hysterical to look forward to the Kingdom of God? I'm guilty then.

Agree. People have been saying it since the times of the Apostles. We (globally) have been in far worse and lawless eras than we are now. Generations continually read into the scriptures their current situation. The Romans, the Huns, the Mongol Horde, the rise of Islam, the Middle Ages and Vikings, the Black Death and other real plagues....WW1, WW2 and the holocaust, the Soviets, it just keeps going. We are actually in a pretty peaceful and safe era compared to the past.

In Matthew he talks about the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple. We are in the last days, though, since they started when Christ was coronated as King.

This isn’t expectancy.

Is that what he says?

For many will come in my name saying, I am Christ;
- St. Matthew 24:5 (DRA)

I always thought one way of interpreting that is Our Lord was predicting that people will come acknowledging that Christ is Christ but they will deceive people.

That’s an interesting take, but I don’t think I’ve ever heard it interpreted any other way than people claiming to be Christs themselves...

The last days began with Jesus' arrival. You missed the whole enchilada.

Jesus said it too.

He also talks about the signs of the last days and even says the sun and moon won't give light when he comes back.
No, thats what happens after the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple.

Where does it say that? The disciples clearly asked him about the end of the world, not the destruction of the temple.
No, they didn’t.

And He said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not one stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn down.”
— Matthew 24:2
As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”
— Matthew 24:3
