we are Looking for feedback

ok so im in a kind new Christian Atl. Rock Band. and the only people that talk to us about our music is our church family.(and you know they tell us we are good no matter what) so i want the CCM people of the CF family to take a listen and tell me what you think.

yes it is our myspace page. if you want to add us fine. but i really want honest feedback from people who dont care either way. im not looking to put the band out there....well it is but...you get the idea.

if you guys and gals have time to take a quick listen and post a comment here of what you think it would help me/ us out alot.

Lyrically, the songs are very weak. It reminds me a lot of things that teenagers write when they first get into Christianity. The whole "I need you" and "I want to see your face" typical type stuff that is all the same.

Musically, you need more practice. It sounded a few times like you guys were trying to do things that were a bit above your skill level and it made the song sound messy. Also, there is nothing that really makes the music stand out. It sounds typical and boring like a garage band. Few chord combinations and viola, a song. But it's nothing that stands out and makes it anything more than a typical church band, which is not a good thing when you're trying to record.

Recording wise, it wasn't terrible for a home studio setting. I've heard a lot worse. You need to get someone who knows what they are doing behind the board though and who can really add things like filters, gates, and other effects to make it pop out.

The bottom line is you need to get with a producer who knows what they are doing and would be willing to work with you. You're on the right track and a lot further than most bands I hear on their first recordings. Keep it up and keep moving forward.

Thank you. i needed that put in words. i knew we lacked stuff and were missing stuff. but couldent really put it in words. we are a very young band. oldist member is myself at 19. youngest is 14. we are trying to get out there. find some pros that can help us. we have our church fam. but out side that we make it up as we go...

AHHH, in many ways i agree. i understand that you are still a young group, thats ok. you just need a little "FINE TUNING".

RECORDING: not bad at all for firsties. i personally thought that it had a little static noise in it, but other than that its "ok"

i thought the girls had good voices. at least the main one i heard was good. probably needs to tinker out some tiny imperfections in note hitting but ok.

i did notice what the other guy commented on, that you tried to play music that you couldnt yet handle. drumming was ok, guitar was ok.

its a good starting point and ultimatly with practice and pending time together as a group, you will get much better.
spend as much time as you can with each other. the BEST bands are there because the bandmates are all bro's and sis's.
im sure you will do great.!

thats funny because we are a fam. Cassie Josh & Shelly are borthers/sisters. and im engaged to shelly. our manager is there oldist sister. and or designer is there mom.

and we have been getting better. you would ROFL if you listened to us a year ago. we are trying to get some lead guitar in there. and im working on my drumming. its gonna be along road but we are going.

one problem is too none of us have formal training. we are all self tought. other than cassie who is in school quire.
