I was addressing the issue of the first day of the week.No. My comment, that you quoted, was about the resurrection. So why then did you reference verses which say nothing about it?
But the early Church is not silent. And in addition, the scriptures are silent with regard to anyone practicing a keeping of the first day of the week in honor of the resurrection.
Please point to the scripture that says we are to keep the first day holy. Where the first day is the new day of worship and sanctified by God. Where does it say we no longer have to obey the Sabbath commandment and God or Jesus instead commanded us to keep the first day holy. Where is the reversal from God on the seventh day Sabbath. Once God blesses something like He did with His holy Sabbath day man cannot reverse Num 23:20 so you would need a thus saith the Lord in the Text. Where does God explicitly call the first day My holy day like He does for the Sabbath Isa 58:13 Where did the apostles keep every first day like we are shown they did for every Sabbath preaching God’s Word. Acts 18:4, Acts 13:42-44 The Sabbath, not the first day continues for eternity for worship Isaiah thus saith the Lord 66:22-23But the early Church is not silent.
I find it incredible that a day that was observed AFTER the crucifixion by many in the New Testament is ignored later by so called Bible scholars.St. John Chrysostom on keeping the Jewish Sabbath by Christians
“For though few are now circumcised, yet, by fasting and observing the sabbath with the Jews, they equally exclude themselves from grace... You have put on Christ, you have become a member of the Lord and been enrolled in the heavenly city, and you still grovel in the law [of Moses]? How is it possible for you to obtain the kingdom? Listen to Paul’s words, that the observance of the law overthrows the gospel, and learn, if you will, how this comes to pass, and tremble, and shun this pitfall. Why do you keep the Sabbath and fast with the Jews? Is it that you fear the Law and abandonment of its letter? But you would not entertain this fear, did you not disparage faith as weak, and by itself powerless to save. A fear to omit the sabbath plainly shows that you fear the Law as still in force; and if the Law is needful, it is so as a whole, not in part, nor in one commandment only; and if as a whole, the righteousness which is by faith is little by little shut out. If you keep the sabbath, why not also be circumcised? And if circumcised, why not also offer sacrifices? If the Law is to be observed, it must be observed as a whole, or not at all.” (Homilies on Galatians 2:17 [A.D. 395])
St. Gregory the Great on keeping the Jewish Sabbath by Christians
“It has come to my ears that certain men of perverse spirit have sown among you some things that are wrong and opposed to the holy faith, so as to forbid any work being done on the Sabbath day. What else can I call these [men] but preachers of Antichrist, who when he comes will cause the Sabbath day as well as the Lord’s day to be kept free from all work." (Letters 13:1 [A.D. 597])
When I look for guidance I first turn to the Bible, not John Chrysostom or Gregory the Great. The "St" before John was bestowed on him by a man. Same with "the Great" for Gregory. Titles mean nothing.St. John Chrysostom on keeping the Jewish Sabbath by Christians

Obeying a commandment of God is celebrating the antichrist? We celebrate the Resurrection of Christ on Kyriaki, the Lord's Day. Sabbath keepers celebrate the Antichrist as St. John and St. Gregory state.
If you want to follow the law then go get circumcised and follow the WHOLE Law.When I look for guidance I first turn to the Bible, not John Chrysostom or Gregory the Great. The "St" before John was bestowed on him by a man. Same with "the Great" for Gregory. Titles mean nothing.
If by "Lord's Day" you're referring to the first day of the week, any thoughts on why scripture says nothing with regard to anyone doing that?We celebrate the Resurrection of Christ on Kyriaki, the Lord's Day.
Paul compares the law of circumcision with the law of God and came to a conclusion...If you want to follow the law then go get circumcised and follow the WHOLE Law.
Please reply to the points I made. You disagree. Just state why. Draw from the Bible please. It's the only reference that really matters. If you want to follow the law then go get circumcised and follow the WHOLE Law.
There was no need as the early Christians had been taught directly by the Apostles and there was never any contention on that issue. If by "Lord's Day" you're referring to the first day of the week, any thoughts on why scripture says nothing with regard to anyone doing that?
How would you possibly draw such a ridiculous conclusion from what I wrote? So you're saying that the writers of the NT were not a part of the early church?
Just seems curious that a new practice that is so important - even a mortal sin to not practice it - was not mentioned. There was no need as the early Christians had been taught directly by the Apostles and there was never any contention on that issue.
Where did your "mortal sin" reference come from?Just seems curious that a new practice that is so important - even a mortal sin to not practice it - was not mentioned.
This page makes a lot of sense. It signifies a fresh start. It would make perfect sense for Revelation to start on that note. Definitely not the Sabbath. As it says there, if it was the Sabbath the Bible would say it was the Sabbath. So simple.
It does say so for eternity.....Isaiah 66:22-23.This page makes a lot of sense. It signifies a fresh start. It would make perfect sense for Revelation to start on that note. Definitely not the Sabbath. As it says there, if it was the Sabbath the Bible would say it was the Sabbath. So simple.
