Was Jesus helpful while suffering depression?

Yes Jesus has been very supportive while suffering from depression.

The best is that God's word is truer than my ill feelings fire my way. Just knowing that God cared about me was already helpful, for my depressed feelings made it seem that none cared for me, while God's word told me that God loved me even while i was still a sinner. This truth has greatly encouraged me while going through those dark valleys.

I was so depressed by life that there was a time in my life I wanted to kill myself. Jesus rescued me from that, and over time healed me emotionally, giving me confidence and strength in life.

In the sense of having someone to cast our burdens and send prayers, yes. Just having Him in my life did not lift my mood though because that's not the void that causes my depression.

God cares for each of you. He teaches us in every situation, don’t waste your time, and go to church. Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you up. He does lift our burden and mood. If you can read your bible do so. Let trouble fall away from you like water off a ducks back. Keep at it. Don’t hope too high. Be thoughtful at times and carefree at others. Keep praying.
