  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I don't think you were wrong. I'd rather play it safe too. Too many weirdos out there. I've browsed personal sites and where it asks for religion they'll put 'Christian' but I think it's because it's the religion they are most familiar with and they figure it sounds good. Kind of like having a 'title' on a resume'...you may not have the skills or the experience but hey...you were the 'director' of something. I dunno...I guess I've come across too many pervs and it really makes me mad....and suspicious.

I was at Match a few years ago. Isn't it something to with the system at Match? You can only respond to internal stuff if you're a member? Anyway, I believe you did the right thing and anyone in your shoes would have done the same :)

I think all of those personals sites are scams anymore. Make it sound enticing then when you have looked around and 'found someone interesting'......you can contact this person for $19.95 a month.....money talks....mine says "pay your bills!" haha Granted for someone like me living in a hick town full o' lowlife it would be an option but I just don't like getting ripped off.

They do put religion more than Christianity it seems. And even though it's good for business, it isn't so good in the long run. It not just makes me cynical and skeptical when I see them. But also it makes me suspicious of them as well.

Another vote for "nah, better to email a bit first." I understand that some prefer phone conversation, but I definitely believe it better to email/IM/whatever for a while. Frankly, I'd rather write for weeks or even months before calling, but I know that preferences vary.
