I read a prayer online to be baptized by the holy spirit, and to speak in tongues, and all of a sudden my speech became silent, medicine like and fluid, but I could understand the speech, and no matter how hard I tried to speak louder, no sound came out. Keep in mind at this time I was worried of waking my brother and mother, and getting them mad. I could understand what I was saying and I started talking about stuff that was mostly to comfort myself, but it went away, and i tried it again downstairs to see if their was some kind of bias making me stay silent upstairs because my family was there, and it happened again, and I began speaking with great enthusiasm about jesus, and though i thought perhaps i should stop and sleep, i felt inspired to inspire myself more, and more, until it was over. EDIT: Both times i was praying to jesus when i was speaking

Tounges is a language that the speaker does not know but the hearer, that it is meant for, does know.
Blessings.

I think I might've utterered something unusual, and then dismissed it, then asked God to interpret it in passing to the point I forgot about it, and then I began hearing it. Can the holy spirit interpret it for you?

Typically, tongues are meant for others, mostly unbelievers.

Definitely He can and does. Interpretations are great but not required. Since you're researchguy, you can check it out. My research includes the purpose referenced above
"Evangelistic language - Speaking the message of God to a people in their own language (not learned by the speaker). (Acts 2: 4, 6. 8).
Some other Biblical purposes for speaking in a language the believer hasn't learned includes:

(There's a "diversities of tongues" II Cor 12:28).
-Personal prayer language - Speaking to/with God (I Cor 14:4)
-Intercessory prayer language - Praying for others in the Spirit (Rom 8:26-27).
-Warfare language - Tongues directly aimed at demonic strongholds (Eph 6:18-19)
-Prophetic language - Addressing the whole church/preferably with interpretation - (I Cor 12:10; 14:5, 26)
-Singing in the Spirit - Singing in tongues/worship activity (I Cor 14:14-15)
-Praise language - Magnifying the Lord in worship tongues ( Acts 10)
(Saint Steven, a CF poster, gave permission to use his basic list).
It does build us up, Jude 20).

Also, I believe it's a part of God's armor for us, "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;" Eph 6:18.

Also, studied mouth, speaking, words, surrendering, etc
