T&O & Andrew-I agree, I like to debate too. But what we have been forced to endure in this forum at the hands of some has been nothing short of pure abuse.

I don't care that the progs or formers differ in their beliefs from us. But when a 'question' has been asked and then answered, they refuse to let it go at that.

If you want to know more of how I REALLY feel, let me know and I will pm you. I am severely reported by some and my every comment is harshly tested. So my comments must be silenced into pm's. So tell me, who is harassing and bashing and persecuting whom?

I understand all the frustration here and I certainly share in it. Woob, I know what you mean in your last post abot debate. The Bible does say in several places to avoid stupid arguments because they only lead to conflict. I get as sick of these silly arguments as anyone else, but if debate includes asking honest questions then I don't like the idea.

For example, I like being able to ask any questions that may come to mind, no matter how controversial, and see what others' perspectives are. It's not that I'm trying to start an argument...I honestly want to know how you guys feel. I understand there are those who abuse the system, and abusers should be reprimanded, but if we ban even this type of conversation, then what is the point of having our own forum?

Asking and answering questions isn't debating.

There is a significant difference between someone who asks questions and someone who tries to belittle your beliefs.

People aren't just asking questions in here. They are trying to superimpose their views on us. And when we don't agree with them they mock and harass us to no end.

Hi Dean,

I would think to be a moderate of a congregation, you have to stay neutral with your actions while you are still entitled to your beliefs.

When you started the poll in your own forum asking for a subforum for the progs, you had marred that unwritten trust. Even some members of your own forum noted the absurdity of the bias in your wordings.

You said how the progs were wrongly persecuted and how dire was their situation. Do you see any of us going to the prog forum and dance around their FSGs to harass them??? Now I hope you are able to see who is persecuting whom.

After the split, you should have left the mod team here since the group you signed up to serve left and have their own place now. But you stayed on and we lived with it.

In all honesty, Dean, it has become apparent to me now unfortunately you have become a part of the problem here. You should wisely resign from the mod team or we will have to have a vote of confidence concerning you as a moderator here.

I wasn't here to see what Dean did, but I have no reason not to believe you, since I know you to be an honest person.

Therefore, he should not be a moderator for this forum anymore.

Get this thing moving and I will give my vote.

Member votes don't have anything to do with who moderates the forums now.

If you have concerns about a mderator's bias, I recommend you contact the reconciliation team. You can do so by starting a thread with your concerns in the Suggestions/Complaints box forum.

From my past experience this would be a useless endeavor, as it is just as biased.

Folks, I think the best thing to do at this point is to just leave CF altogether and create our own forum.

We are obviously outnumbered and would be better off going elsewhere. By having our own forum outside of CF we can make the rules, and we won't have to deal with the abuse that we have been putting up with for the past 3 years.

I'm not available to moderate or chat much right now (as most of you know from my Prayer request thread), but feel free to use my forum and chat room if you want while D&D is gone. Just play nice. ;)

I have to agree with Andrew, what you all are not seeing is different people have there own process that leads them to God. Some drop their nets and believe, others like Thomas have to have their doubts addressed. Thats what the debate and discussion sub-forum does, it allows a Adventist to open up and say "I need to understand", and God brings them through the brotherhood, a verse, a writing, a explanation, which unveils the mystery of God and His Son Jesus Christ.

I would'nt be here if it wasnt for the debate and discussion sub-forum, as telling me to believe is like telling doubting Thomas, dont bother checking its Him. You cant tell me, follow this cause the church says so, you have to open the scriptures and draw a picture so I can see with my minds eye. The debate and discussion sub-forum provides that, a place to say were you are at, a place to strenthen your faith. I have to work the truths of God in the mind so that the Holy Spirit can lead to a understanding of them so I can accept them in the heart and Christ can help my unbelief.

Some the Holy Spirit can guide into all truth with the still small voice, others like doubting Thomas need to reach out and be hit with the hard truth so that they accept Christ fully and grow in Christ and His love, and not just know about Christ...

The debate and discussion sub-forum has its place, we just have to decide how we will use it....

Have a wonderful Sabbath....

Red:)

Very good points Red.

I have to ask this, though. Are you "sketchy" at all with the fundamental beliefs of our church?

I'm not. Not one iota, and I have debated the Sabbath commandment until there is no room for question in my mind. The same with the state of the dead and immersion baptism, etc.

That may not be true for others, though and I realize that. There are some that just know God's will for us has never changed and they accept it, but others may want concrete New Testament teachings to cement their beliefs.

That isn't really debate though. If they're already Adventist or someone wishing to become an Adventist, sincere questioning is not debate.

We have had some genuine people with genuine questions come in here and I have never once NOT answered them if I saw the question....even though I've answered the same question probably no less than 100 times.

It's the not-so-genuine and the kick-you-under-the-table-while-I-smile-to-your-face aspect that I'm tired of dealing with.

If we're going to have debate I don't want to limit it to topics outside of our beliefs. I have strong scriptural support for everything I believe in or I wouldn't believe it.

I want you all to notice something....since we've had moderation in here contributing to our discussions, do you guys see the difference? Nobody is trying to harass us. They CAN stop and leave us alone, obviously!

Sure they're taking our posts over there, but they're just proving our points when they do that!

We need moderation that will take care of harassment because it's gotten to the point where some people come over here for no other reason than to harass now that they can't "teach".

I'm not ready to leave CF. We got a split and this forum could be AWESOME, but we're going to have to go through the growing pains first. Anything worth having is worth fighting for.

That's my personal opinion, of course!

I pray for this forum a lot. We all should. If God is for us, who can be against us?

Woob,

I don't think the time has come for that. There are many people on CF and I think we need to have the "traditional" side of Adventism present and available for people to review.
