  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Any thoughts on this dream?

A little background: My preacher daddy died in 2005 and my mother died in 2010.

Very early this morning, I dreamed that my mother and father were standing outside my home. I knew, in the dream, that they had been dead for as long as they have, so I was delighted to see them after so long a time. They were standing beside a car with three people in the back seat whom I didn't know and who didn't look at me. Neither of my parents smiled at me. I wasn't surprised at my mother not smiling, she didn't smile much when she was alive. But my dad was my buddy and he would have beamed when he saw me! He didn't. My mother spoke soberly and said, "There isn't much time!" I said, excitedly, "I KNOW! JESUS IS COMING! HE TOLD ME, 'I'M COMING SOON!!" I was dancing around, rejoicing. My mother shook her head and said, "That isn't what I meant."

With that, I woke up.

I have to say I'm a little stumped on the 3 people in the back seat of the car. Where they white people, or of another nationality? There's a reason why they weren't looking at you too. hmmm
Lord, please show us what this means or give ClayVessel another dream to clarify.

I'm not surprised that my dad came with my mother, because my mother almost never went anywhere without him. But, since he was the preacher, I'm a little surprised that it was my mother giving me the message, and not my dad.

The three people may represent a length of time.

If we seek Him on something long enough He'll bring the answer.. I remember a couple times where I was so stumped by things He put in dreams and other people weren't getting the answer either, I would think about the symbols and try to put it all together but was missing it. It was a full week of constantly inquiring of the Lord ...lol... and then He just "lays the answer on me" either in direct communication or a separate answer in a short dream. He loves when we pursue Him for answers.. He's a pretty smart fellow... hahahaa.. understatement of the century!

Okay, I have been giving this a lot of thought and I wonder if it could be connected with three dreams that I have had over the past 18 months or so.

In the first dream, I was in a beautiful new housing complex with my husband, high on a hill, overlooking Tucson, AZ (I think). The road we were on ended with a guard rail and a steep cliff, hundreds of feet down. I warned my husband about the cliff, but without thought, he walked off the edge and I watched him fall to his death. Horrifying!

In the second dream, my husband was riding his bicycle down a steep hill, with a huge, deep, unrailed drop-off on the side. He went around a curve too fast and flew off the cliff to his death. I couldn't help him.

In the third dream, he and I were in a car, again going down a steep hill, when, instead of turning, he drove straight off a cliff. Flying through the air, I said, "We are going to see Jesus!" I survived the resultant crash, but he didn't.

When I awoke from each of these dreams, they seemed to be literally warning me that my husband was going to die a sudden death. I hope I am wrong. He's awesome and I love him very much.

Hey CV, I see what you mean.. that perhaps the is Lord saying "it's almost time" means the fulfilment of these dreams is coming soon. Mercy.. I can understand your concern. I really hope they aren't about his actual death IRL. I will say this however, whatever is going to happen IS going to happen. Whenever I dream the same dream or similar themed dreams 3 times, it means it is going to happen & there's nothing we can do about it, the only thing we can do is manage how we react when it takes place. I pray God bless & help you through whatever this is sister. I'll interpret these on a symbolic level to see what insight you might glean..
Horrifying!
A housing complex usually symbolizes a place in life that is 'complex' or intricate. Arizona is known for extra hot weather & desert. This may indicate a dry season and season filled with pressure/stress (hot). A cliff in the context it's used here is symbolic of danger, a risk, or someone who's about to fall away. The guardrail indicates there is a safety measure in place but it's being ignored.

In the second dream, my husband was riding his bicycle down a steep hill, with a huge, deep, unrailed drop-off on the side. He went around a curve too fast and flew off the cliff to his death. I couldn't help him.
A bicycle can symbolize someone doing something on their own & independently.. it can also symbolize doing things using one's own power of the flesh (manually pedalled).. the cliff here is again the same symbolism: danger, a risk, or someone who's about to fall away. The lack of guard-rail indicates he is journeying thru life at this point in recklessness.

In the third dream, he and I were in a car, again going down a steep hill, when, instead of turning, he drove straight off a cliff. Flying through the air, I said, "We are going to see Jesus!" I survived the resultant crash, but he didn't.
A car represents the manner in which we travel through life and the steep hill seems to indicate a fast 'decline' of things. The cliff again: danger, risk, someone about to fall away. And finally, a car wreck is indicative of strife, contention, calamity, offence, or a mistake or sin in ministry.

Just wondering: How is your husbands walk with God? - Are you having marital problems? (these are personal Q's and I don't expect you to answer them on the forum unless of course you want to, but I think you see where I'm going with the Q's). Your H could also symbolize someone "in authority"..but like you, I get the sense it's actually about Him - He definitely isn't representing Jesus here. It could be an actual accident of sorts - but I'm not sure on that....

Abba, we call on You now - You know and see all things - You know what our tomorrow's hold and you know what is going to transpire in ClayVessel's life. We ask Lord for huge sweeping amounts of grace, strength, peace & favour to cover your daughter when turmoil strikes. We don't know exactly what this will look like Father, but we plead with You to prepare Your children and if there be any way possible to avoid or correct it Lord we ask You intervene. But Father, when it comes to tragedies in life and what we must endure, we bow humbly before You and say "Not my will but thine". Please bless and be very real to Your child Papa, In Jesus name.. Amen

Thank you, MP, for this wise insight, counsel, and prayer. My husband loves the Lord with all of his heart. We have been married 30 years and we have a wonderful, loving marriage. The season we are going through together at the moment is one that has seldom been sweeter in all of our years of marriage. We adore each other!

In the three dreams I have had, I was always the observer, even in the car wreck, so I have had the feeling that it might symbolize a sudden heart attack or something.

The Grace of God is that I have had some time to get used to the idea and make plans, if that is what is going to happen. My husband may have been feeling the same thing, because on several occasions, he has discussed with me what I should do, financially, if he were to die suddenly. This sounds very horrible and morbid and I pray that God will spare him.
