If they were running some sort of atheist advert, but refusing to run religious adverts, you might have a point. But they're not, so you haven't.
An 'atheist' advert wouldn't get banned though would it, unless you are suggesting Atheism is a religion which would be a revelation in itself

I think I've explained this to you as much as possible. You seem to be so opposed to facing reality that you attack the messenger in some hopeless endeavor to alter that reality. I'm not here to be your pet whipping boy on this and I'm no longer going to respond to your accusations.

The 'reality' you paint is a sad one indeed; simply because poor lambs are offended or irritated by religion this is good and proper reason to discriminate against religious organisations. Another demonstration of how intolerant and illiberal our current secular society, and all in the name of tolerance and being 'progressive' no doubt.

So, you're claiming discrimination, based on what you are assuming would happen if atheists tried to place an advert?

Can you rephrase that or add some punctuation? I'm not sure what you're actually asking.

I obviously don't think atheism is a religion. But if this cinema company truly wants to avoid discrimination, they should not show adverts on the subject of religion. Which would include adverts against religion. Or, they should choose to show all religious adverts, from all faiths and none. I don't care what they do, as long as they're consistent.

I don't paint sadness. I paint reality and the reality I see here is that a group of religious people have determined that they would broadcast their faith in a way that others reject. That is the sum and total of it. It says in the Bible that if a person will not hear your message then you are to leave the house and shack the dust off of your sandals.

That message reverberates around in my head every time I see instances such as this. It seems I am in the minority, sense so many people think it is their duty , not to go out and preach to others, but to act like Peta and toss out these publicity stunts that say nothing to those who read them.

If you want to spread the word you are going to have to put forth an effort to do so, not just through out visuals that the media has already indoctrinated the public into believing that we are loons.

You are saying nothing to these people and they are not listening because those who have taken the time to address them has already placed an image of us in their hearts. If we don't personally get off our dead butts and get out there, all they will hear or those same voices.

This stunt is like someone coming on stage, not saying a thing, holding up a flash card with a cross on it and then walking off again.

I still don't get why an atheism advert would be on the subject of religion or need any reference to religion, I thought atheism was supposed to be a lack of belief.

How lucky we are to have you here to paint reality for us, and what a depressingly intolerant and illiberal vision you have for our society. Just because someone somewhere might disagree with my views that means I should have no right to air them. And the verse in Matthew about shaking dust from your feet was referring to individual people, not entire societies, unless you are suggesting there is in actual fact a biblical command to not share the gospel just because someone somewhere might disagree with it.

That message reverberates around in my head every time I see instances such as this. It seems I am in the minority, sense so many people think it is their duty , not to go out and preach to others, but to act like Peta and toss out these publicity stunts that say nothing to those who read them.

Really? An advert containing a mixture of culturally and ethnically diverse people saying the Lord's prayer - is a stunt? Comparable to Peta saying dog owners are no better than the KKK? You have a strange vision of reality.

If you want to spread the word you are going to have to put forth an effort to do so, not just through out visuals that the media has already indoctrinated the public into believing that we are loons.

A complete false dichotomy, the CoE is certainly 'off its butt' and does plenty to 'get out there'. In fact the advert is very much part of getting out there. But if you sign up to the prevailing secular vision of tolerance and diversity (ie. the opposite of tolerance and diversity) then this kind of confusion is to be expected.

This stunt is like someone coming on stage, not saying a thing, holding up a flash card with a cross on it and then walking off again.

Again, not really a stunt. But then if you are burdened under some kind of self-loathing just becasue you are a Christian I can understand why you are so insecure about sharing a simple biblical message.

Atheism is not a religious belief. It's the absence of a religious belief. So it's on the subject of religion, without being a religious belief. Are you being deliberately obtuse?

No, lack of belief in God is distinct to lack of religious belief, you can be a deist/theist without being religious. Surely not difficult to grasp.
