Mr Blair (whom I don't know personally, and who for all I know may be a nice person, kind to cats, etc.) has been discredited over other things that it's odd when much attention is paid to his pronouncements.

He took the UK into the Iraq war supposedly because of the imminent threat of WMD. Far from being imminent, none were found.

He agreed to the concessions made to the EU which so concerned the majority that voted for BREXIT.

With the EU and Iraq hanging proverbially like an albatross around his neck, his retirement - well earned or not - is probably more important to the UK electorate than his pronouncements.

PS: The Allies at Nuremberg hanged German generals on counts that included ones such as 'waging aggressive war'.

Iraq did not attack the UK. No WMD - the supposed imminent threat from which being the reason that Mr Blair gave Parliament for the UK's attack on Iraq - were found.
