  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Here's a link to a site with the Trail of Blood pamphlet plus a nice intro. Some good quotes there that I had not seen before. It's humbling to see the amount of Baptist blood shed for the gospel's sake.

I still like Broadbent's "The Pilgrim Church". It's a longer treatment and connects the histories of born-again groups (most of whom were persecuted mercilessly... probably by my anscestors!) from the early church to the 20th century (or late 19th)?

As Sir Robert Anderson wrote, we should never forget the price paid by countless thousands for things we take for granted... the Bible in our hands... the Bible in our tongue... the freedom of conscience... the finished work of Christ... etc. May we never compromise His eternal truths or the memories of these brave men and women for temporal gain or comfort.

On that note, I, of course, recommend "Foxe's Book of Martyrs."

In Majority, she is as viscious as a Wolf.
