I shop at walmart, but wholeheartedly wish I could get everything from the Trader Joe's here and Whole Foods. I still purchase some things from both of those stores, at an approximate amount of 60% walmart, 20% Trader Joe's, and 20% Whole Foods per month. If I had more money to spend on food I would buy more from the better two stores. Unfortunately right now I do not. As others said, people on a budget and especially with large families have to survive. For everyone else, it would be ideal to at least buy one or two things from a local store, preferably a natural one, imo. Even when I shop at walmart I make sure my dollar vote goes to things like gluten free foods, fruit smoothies without additives, locally grown food, and the few organic things they do have...
I agree with bhsmte, Target is incredibly overpriced at least where I live. I honestly don't know how they're still in business here other than from people with a relatively disposable income and maybe the few Target brand items they have there. They have a sale every now and then that, at best, matches walmart's regular prices.
