  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Waiting until 20 is too late.

I am a 20 year old Christian male, but I feel like I should have already done things (spiritually) when I was younger and not wait until I am this old. Not that I haven't done anything I was supposed to, but maybe not enough.

Two of my older siblings still haven't got baptised. They've been ready for it for a long time, but now they say it seems a bit awkward. Now they're planning on getting baptised in Israel. After waiting for so long, they definitely understand the meaning.

What kinds of things are you talking about?

Whenever the Holy Spirit places it on your heart to be baptized-that's the right time to do it. That can happen at any age.

20 is actually young. Finding Christ can happen at any age. As long as you keep pushing forward and pursuing him you are never to old to make any type of revelation. I am 22 found Christ 3 almost 4 years ago. This past year was the first time I ever thought about getting baptized. Life is a journey and things come in Gods timing. We don't always agree with his time but, it is the only way.

Here's something to accomplish:
Read the entire New Testament. I think that would be a good accomplishment if you haven't yet.
Another one: memorize bible verses. Not all of them, but some key ones that are especially meaningful.
Memorize this for example:
1John2: 15Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. 17The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.

Couldn't they just find a pool, or maybe just a bucket to splash water with? Oh...who am I kidding. I wasn't water baptized yet. I'm planning on going to Israel too, and I want Donald J. Trump to baptize me in Trump Water at one of his Israeli resort hotel baptismal spa-pools. (only kidding :D)

Haha yeah, they could. Hopefully you can get your dream baptism too!

But it is a bit silly to wait for such circumstances, I get it. However, our church has been planning a trip to Israel for some time. So we'd likely be going anyways.

Baptismal spa-pools, haha.

As long as you seize the opportunities God now gives you to grow in the faith, it will be good. Sometimes I look back as well and see I lost some of my teen years in rebellion against God, but once I got committed to grow a true relationship with Him, things were good. It might take some time; you might even look back and regret not having done it before, but there's always a second chance as long as we are alive and in our senses. :)
