Option (1) Will make CF a social community not a Christian one.Christian Fourms will have the word "Christian" removed from CF.The community will have a strong Christian influence, but will no longer be ran by just Christians.Christian Forum without Christian leadership is not a Christian site.If we let them lead a christian site will they hold on to our beliefs or their own agenda?

Option (2) will keep CF a Christian site with Christian leadership.CF will keep the name (Christian) Forums and will further unite fellow Christian brothers as one body.It will also be a site where Christians can talk and discuss biblical issues without unbelievers trying to tear down new fellow brothers faith in Jesus Christ.

Please VOTE FOR OPTION 2 NOW (Deadline is the 3rd of August.) God Bless You All

2 Corinthians 6:14-18 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial ? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people."

"Therefore come out from them
and be separate, says the Lord.
Touch no unclean thing,
and I will receive you."
"I will be a Father to you,
and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."

1. A safe social community site with a heavy and strong Christian influence (with the vision being to offer a safe online community, and a secondary vision being to allow Christians to outreach to non-Christians) - which will allow for a name change;

OR

2. Return to a more restricted Christians-only site with a heavy emphasis on uniting mainstream Christians only with a less emphasis on outreach, in which case we keep the name.

The page you linked to shows up blank to me.* And, it's really a shame since I can't vote now.

I specifically found and joined this forum a few days ago precisely because I wanted to discuss issues with other Christians and not have to defend my beliefs, but rather learn and grow in fellowship with fellow Christians.

There are so many other sites out there that cater to those with all sorts of beliefs. Not that many with a large, and specifically Christian-centered membership that I have found. How disappointing it will be to me if this forum is turned into something completely different...

Why may I ask is this even being considered???

Thanks,
Tangeloper

*As far as the page loading blank... This is a problem I have encountered with actually quite a few posts throughout the site that have high post counts (over 500 seems to be the 'magic' number). I have posted this problem in the bugs forum, and others have posted with the same complaint, but I have not seen anyone from "tech" reply to the thread... Just FYI... As I said, it's really a shame as I would very much like to vote in the poll. I wonder how many others will encounter this problem, and not be able to voice their opinions.

I would like to politely suggest to site staff that this problem be resolved before closing the poll, as it doesn't seem quite fair for some of us to be left out due to what is clearly a site-specific technical issue. Barring that, perhaps there is some other way we can voice our opinion to someone who can access the page?

UPDATE:
I was finally able to access the poll yesterday (Aug. 3), and voted for option #2...

I voted the old way...because I came here for a Christian fellowshipping place.

If it becomes as #1 suggests the site name will change, and IMHO this place wont be the same. :( It will become a whole new world from what we know. And that won't be a nessarily good thing.

I voted #2.

Checking around the net today to see if there are any atheist, agnostic or "progressive" Christian sites debating if they want to stay as they are or become orthodox Christian sites.

Haven't found one yet.

But I shall continue to search . . .

So what's the deal with that poll. Aug 3 has come and gone....
Going on the tendency for #2 to remain slightly ahead, the longer the vote remains open the longer the opportunity for a tighter vote, activating the minority to vote more to "get that little bit extra" and come out "on top" in the end. Or just plain "close" for Erwin to continue on his way.

I think it's implied advocacy for #1 among those with the power to close the voting.

In my neck of the earth this is normally covered by the argument, "We want to count every vote."

Why, oh why does this not surprise me? I've only been here for a short while, but I've seen this sort of thing happen so many times. I really hope #2 prevails, as that is why I registered here -- to be a part of a CHRISTIAN forum where I can grow in my faith without having to justify it to non-believers unless I choose to debate such topics...

Let's watch that boiling pot for the time being. They find it very attractive to want to "work to save unbelievers", no matter the risk or cost. Let's keep lobbying, keep informed, and keep up with each other.

DrSteveJ has done a great job of keeping the debate going over its purpose -- turmoil & all. In my estimate he and Miracle_Storm put everything on the line to get us the vote in the first place. If it takes guarding and soldiering the gap we'll do it for just this reason, Tangeloper. We want you to grow in Him as well.

I am confused as to the motivating factor of turning a Christian site into a nonchristian site? Is it a money factor or is therre some desire to attempt weakening bothe the faith and influence of Christians? Are the board owners Christian? Are they Satanic and just out to shame the name of Christ? I do not understand this.

Well that wasn't much of an announcement lol, I hope Erwin makes the right decision. This website is a Christian stronghold & we can be accepting of others without losing our identity. Having a united Christian front will really limit the amount of flaming and jib-jab going on recently.

Keep voting guys!

PS: Implying the owners of this site are satanic is a little mean dude.. :(

I don't think that it should it be surprising that many satanists are also ministers. I happen to have known of some, even here on this board there are priests who are satanic as well. This isnt a mean spirited question but an honest one. The undermining of the Christian faith is common these days.

There are many strange things I have noticed about this particular board. For instance I used to have an accoun here and debated with atheists a lot concerning the faith. I put up very effective debate and endured flame after flame, some even from so called christians who sided with the atheists. I did not flame back and yet because of being effective and enduring, charges were made up against me and I was banned for bypassing a ban. Whats odd is I was NEVER banned in the first place. I am NOW bypassing that ban to speak my peace. I pm'd the mods on several occasions asking them to look and see that I had never before been banned and had broken no rules, and yet atheism and flaming and false charges stood, while the christian was banned.

There is something fishy going on at this site and Chrsitianity will not be allowed to prevail. So dont write off my question, it is an honest one.

Has ANYONE else here considered WHAT IS the motivating factors in the recent changes?
