These were all done in Colors3d on the Nintendo3ds. It is a fun, simple painting program.

They are challenging. i usually just dive in and wing it, but the top one this time I tried the Reilley method to see if that helps. It does assist in making sure that things are lined up, but I still had a few errors.

Anyone else do portraits or practice heads? What methods do you usually use?

These are great! Looks like you have all the quarter rotations covered, profile to profile. Love the Bernie caricature. I look at that and immediately hear Larry David's voice. The second from the bottom reminds me of some historical figure but I can't place him. Maybe its the mutton chops.

The reference was from old photos in the Library of Congress. They were early enough that they had no copyright. I don't think the man was particularly prominent, but he does have a distinguished look from back in that time period.
