  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

How important is it that your spouse is a virgin when you get married? Do you think that you could "deal" with it if that had made a mistake in the past and weren't...or would you feel like you had been "cheated" out of something with that person?
its not especially important to me. So long as he's recognized premarital sex is a sin and repented of it (this is assuming of course its not due to being widowed or something) and committed himself to celibacy until marriage thats all i care about.

My main concern about marriage to a non-virgin is whether or not I am entering into a lifestyle of adultery. I believe the real binding nature of marriage is not a ceremony but the sex. So every sexual engagement can be considered another marriage. God may forgive a person for committing multiple adulteries but this forgiveness does not necessary erase a person’s marital status. So, by this understanding, to marry a non-virgin is to live a lifestyle of adultery. If repentance is the “turning away from sin,” how can a person repent from this sin?

I think that the “World’s Values” have infiltrated into the church far too much in regards to sexuality activity. Christians seem to take the consequences of sexual activity far too lightly when the operative word in the Bible is not to resist it but to “flee” from it.

Dear, dear, dear, you should stop worrying about these things.

As long as they aren't someone who sleeps around a lot, I really couldn't care. I just want someone who respects sex as a loving act.
I agree. Respect and a godly attitude towards sex is much, more important that past mistakes.

Personally I'm tired of seeing virginity held up almost as an idol by some young Christians.

lol well once they start getting into the double digits I start to worry :p But not too long ago I read an article that said the average female has 4 sexual partners in her lifetime. I'm sure there's a bunch of tramps skewing the average too hahaha

Hehe, whoa, slow down!

I'll have to find my sources but I've read that the more sexual partners you have, the more you are prone to mental illness and a bunch of other disorders. In fact, I was discussing with a friend the other day about an article claiming that it actually causes a mild form of brain damage haha.

I do believe that it is spiritually damaging and that it makes it harder to trust subsequent partners irregardless of how the relationship ended and that it makes it more difficult to connect to them emotionally.
