I think the article misunderstands human nature in not seeing conflict, violent conflict, exciting. It is and that can be good or bad. Some forms of media revel in nihilistic violence, most tend to want to portray a fight between ideologies as the catalyst for conflict which is just historical in my opinion, since we continue to fight over different ideas to this day.
