  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's not. And that picture of Marxists marching and demonstrating doesn't do anything for your claim.

I appreciate some here might just look at articles for the pictures, but maybe try reading the words, and the sources linked to in the article.

Well, you could produce a less laughable response next time. Why not try producing a counterargument against the analysis made by CSIS? Hth
You abandoned your argument by the time you turned to that kind of banter,. For example, the claim originally was that the right was more violent, to which you came back with a ridiculous claim made by a newspaper that the left had not murdered anyone.

I can only think that that verbal slight of hand was meant to exonerate Antifa, BLM, and their allies by relying upon the claim made by an organization that is far left itself. It is not credible.

But even that doen't go to the fact of bystanders killed by these rioters, billions of dollars in property damage, and innumerable injuries meted out by these domestic terrorists.

Forgive me for not taking you entirely seriously when you decided to try and refute the article by looking at the pictures. If you want to be taken seriously, maybe do better than that ^_^

For example, the claim originally was that the right was more violent, to which you came back with a ridiculous claim made by a newspaper that the left had not murdered anyone.

?? Isn't murder the most severe form of violence?

I can only think that that verbal slight of hand was meant to exonerate Antifa, BLM, and their allies by relying upon the claim made by an organization that is far left itself. It is not credible.

Errrrr CSIS is not far left bruh. I'm guessing you haven't heard of it.

But even that doen't go to the fact of bystanders killed by these rioters, billions of dollars in property damage, and innumerable injuries meted out by these domestic terrorists.

You're complaining about me comparing murder and violence, but you're filing property damage under violence now?

It's funny, because I've been told. By Conservative Christians, That if Biden wins. A civil war will happen.
A civil war may happen. I don't know that a Biden victory is the trigger. I think a Biden loss would do it though. Or an inconclusive election. But then I'm not going to be in the militias of the left or right.

Begin with over a hundred riots in over fifty major cities courtesy of the far left, and the deaths and injuries and attempted murders of policemen this past summer.
It should then be no problem in getting a grand total of such.
Go on...we’ll wait.

Also, given the filing dates, that particular study was almost certainly drafted before the George Floyd protests. But it's not like far rightists and other fash haven't kicked up their operations too in the meantime, so

This article will "catch you up" on the sham that the ADL's reporting of political groups it doesn't care for actually is. That's what The Guardian--your source--swallowed, hook, line, and sinker.

The ADL's extremism statistics make it seem like ultraright-wing violence in the US is more common than it actually is

Sweetie, the database the Guardian is talking about that it's reporting on is from CSIS. They mention the ADL as another database of the same general idea, but that is not the one they're reporting on in that piece.

Breathe - read it again, and slowly.

Yeah I hear about a "civil war" if Trump loses.

Buncha hot air. I do predict isolated instances of awful violence if voters send Trump packing. Maybe even a couple OK City type events and/or some assassinations. But nothing like civil war.

I have heard the same. Trump has intimated at this just as he did in 2016. I suspect that the next two months may be very messy.

The question hinges a lot on mail in ballots. Many states have to accept them if they are postmarked by election day, but received later. In some cases, this could keep some states up in the air for a while. I'm hopeful that Florida (which I think doesn't accept later ballots) will come in early for Biden and that and a few other states could seal the deal on election night.
GA does not accept late ballots either if I understand correctly. I voted in person a week and a half ago. so for me them accepting mail-in ballots late I do not have to worry about it.

Is there a margin of victory (either way) such that the loser would concede victory on the night or is it inevitable there will be long-winded legal disputes etc. after the election?
I think if Biden gets 330 EC’s, there would be concession even from Giuliani and Hannity.

Five Thirty Eight released a YouTube video that talks about this subject -- that if Biden wins AZ, NC, and FL that we'll likely know the results of the election on the night of Nov. 3. This is because the deadline for those states to receive absentee ballots is election day -- so they should have all ballots counted that day, and Biden's odds of winning go up to 98% if he wins those three states.

If Trump wins one of these states, then we'll likely have to wait for Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan; which allow absentee ballots to be counted that arrive after election day, so long as they are postmarked by election day.
