  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Again, if he is so dangerous, then what his assassins have attempted to do isn't wrong. Let's not pretend Americans aren't above killing and murder in order to secure 'democracy' and liberalism.

Trump is not going to prison and they know it. And it did not have the effect they had hoped anyway so, get rid of him.
Interesting! Locking him up really was Plan A for this election. And it's not working very well yet. So a Plan B is needed. Almost worked the first time. But by not quite working it 'backfired', and the second attempt backfired, and so Plan B isn't working so well yet. Plan C is to stuff just enough ballot boxes to get over the top. They know how to do that, so maybe it will work. Plan D, if Harris loses, is insurrection or coup. That's the one that could be really ugly. I'm planning on a full pantry by election day and some cash on hand if the country gets shut down.

Exactly, if you hadn't believed anything up until this point, believe the people who used to work for Trump. Trump supporters have learned the errors of their ways by siding with him, and now are against him.

People voting for him a 2nd time, there's just something psychologically wrong there. At this point, it's just a cult following.

3rd time - well, actually 4th. Once in the 2016 primary and again in the 2016 general election, again in the 2020 general election.

And now in the 2024 election. This will be my 4th vote I will be casting for President Trump.

The die is cast Proverbs 16:33

Masks are off now... But nothing is any different than before. It's still one group against the American people.

Please don't throw up Bible quotes along with Trump, it's cringe.

Instead of calling them cultists you might consider that many of them will vote while plugging their noses because they like the Democratic Party alternative even less and that to them you might be cultists too. The problem here is that both big parties have picked bad candidates. They accentuate what's wrong with the other guy's candidate and they excuse the extremes of their own. You guys do that. They do that. You both do it.

So all of you are voting for bad candidates. You aren't voting for good candidates. That's on you. As a result we are going to get a bad president either way. Thank you so much for that. Too few of us have given up on both Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum to find a better, actually good candidate with a good platform. Some people may be caught up in cults of personality. Others think they have no choice in trying to stop the other unsavory candidate, but that only guarantees that one of the unsavory candidates wins.

So it sounds like you're saying, "pick your poison".

I equate Trump to how some people are for whatever reason, are attracted to evil people. There's a 7 year old YouTube video with a long interview with the author of "The Art of the Deal", where the ghost writer Tony Schwartz back then admitted to being forced to alter the book to somehow favor Trump, but he had difficulty finding people that could speak positively of him. He regrets writing the book, but apparently Trump paid him well to write it to suit his narrative.

Full interview here:

I'm a human being who supports reading the Bible.

I don't care who finds it cringe. I'm writing down my thoughts, not anyone else's.

Seems you have picked your poison. You are telling other people to avoid one poison. Fine. Great. But you are drinking your poison by the gallon. Sorry to hear that. Don't you wish, just for a minute, that you had a better candidate to vote for?

Pope Francis said this in effect. After criticizing both candidates, he suggested Catholics follow their consciences.
A Catholic with an informed conscience wouldn't vote for either of them. Not your candidate DEFINITELY, nor the other one.

I have respect for this one. Shows character, even if you don't agree with me. (I don't see any choice but to vote for Trump. I sat out of voting after the 2000 election until Trump - Washington lost the plot altogether)

He added it's a civic duty to vote.
Third party candidates are hit-and-miss, on some state ballots and not others, but they can be an option.

I think Trump is best in the current situation. We have massive corruption on many levels of government. Trump won't back down. We need someone like that IMO.

So go out and vote! Just don’t vote for an evil candidate. Your candidate is in favor of killing innocent human beings in the womb? You can’t vote for that other candidate but you somehow can vote for a person in favor of killing innocent human beings in the womb? Can’t you find ANYONE else to vote for? That to me sounds like an epic fail. You are willing to vote for the political party of hitmen (pope Francis’ words) thinking that isn’t evil?

At least I get to vote for a decent candidate with a decent platform in voting for Sonski. Can’t you do that?

In my opinion, the left wing politicians and influencers in mainstream media as well as social media shall never accept responsibility for the negative actions influenced by their rhetoric.
Since it was Donald Trump's rhetoric that led to the assassination attempts, there is no reason for the left to apologize

There you go blaming the victim for getting shot.
