hi all, i was sitting in our kitchen reading a book and i heard my sister watching South Park... now don't worry, this isn't going to be full of swears
I heard something interesting on the show and I thought I'd share it with all of you
One of the characters, Stan, was trying to prove his point that this one person who claimed to be psycic is a phoney. So he was standing in front of a crown of people and told everyone that pretending to be psycic is as easy as ad libbing. He started out by saying to the crowd "A man named Pete or Peter wants to be acknowledged." This one woman jumped up and yelled how her dead husband's name was Peter. Then Stan said that Peter's death was untimely. The woman agreed because Peter had apparently died young.
My point? I think Stan is right. I mean, he explained it all afterwards. He said that Peter was a random name, and that since the woman was young he made a guess that her husband died young since people usually marry people near their age.
What do you guys think? Does he have a point? (btw this isn't meant to be a debate about South Park, just a contemplation on people who claim to be psycic.)
