This is why I struggle with the writings of Ellen White.

I have no problem with calling Ellen White an inspired Christian writer. But an inspired Christian writer should not add to the Bible, an inspired Christian writer should write on what God has already said or about their own personal experiences with God.

We run into problems when we exalt someones writings equal with the Bible. The reason for this is because when these writers say something regarding their personal conviction like, not wearing jewelry or not drinking wine, we take it and make it Bible doctrine. Then it's hard to turn back when someone points out the truth because it now discredits the writer.

Let us study the Bible and the Bible only to form our doctrines.

I believe that the idea that Christ led people into heaven with Him is based on the texts found in Eph. 4:8 and Psalms 68:18. The emphasis is on "He led captivity captive."

an obsolete old english translation of the word "captivity" is "a group of captives," so it could read "He led a group of captives captive."

I haven't dont a study on this to be sure, but some people read this to mean that the captives that Christ led were with Him to heaven were people.
