No problem, I didnt think Jesus would contradict his being one with the Father through the other words he spake, they should mesh under the same thought.
Even Jesus prayed that we would be one just as they were one
In respects to the doctrine (He just said it was not his own) that as
my Father hath taught me, I
speak these things
As He said...
John 7:17 If any man
will do his will, he
shall know of
the doctrine, whether
it be of God, or
whether I
speak of myself.
Yet adds...
John 7:18 He that
speaketh of himself seeketh
his own glory: but
he that
seeketh his glory that
sent him, the
same is true, and
no unrighteousness is
in him.
And then says here...
John 12:49
For I have not spoken of myself;
but the Father which
sent me, he
gave me a commandment, what
I should say, and
what I should speak.
Confirming Moses words "He shall speak all that I shall command him" and I found Jesus confirms Moses there saying (also)
John 7:16
My doctrine is
not mine, but
his that
sent me.
Which is why John says...
2John 1:9 Whosoever
transgresseth, and
abideth not in
the doctrine of Christ, hath
not God. He
that abideth in
the doctrine of Christ, he
hath both the
Father and the Son.
Why?
John 17:8 For
I have given unto them
the words which
THOU gavest me; and
they have received them, and
have known surely that
I came out from
thee, and
they have believed that
thou didst send me.
For God by Moses said... he shall speak all that
I command him
Acts 7:47 This
is that Moses,
which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet
shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me;
him shall ye hear.
And likewise...
Acts 3:23 And
it shall come to pass, that
every soul, which
will not hear that prophet, shall
be destroyed from
among the people.
Even as Jesus confirms...
John 12:48 He
that rejecteth me, and
receiveth not my words, hath
one that judgeth him: the word
that I have spoken, the same
shall judge him
in the last day.
So we abide in Jesus Christ AND His words (which even he said were not his own) but the Fathers who sent him. Thus we have both the Father and the Son. The doctrine of Christ is the doctrine of God, they are inseparable even there and in accord with what God spake by Moses (Jesus likewise confirms the same) "He gave me a commandment" (concerning what I shall say) and what I should speak.
And so we are encouraged...
Heb 2:1
Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things
which we have heard, lest
at any time we
should let them slip.
Heb 2:2
For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every
transgression and disobedience received
a just recompence of reward;
Heb 2:3 How
shall we escape, if
we neglect so great salvation; which
at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and
was confirmed unto us by
them that
heard him;
And He prayed for them....
John 17:9 I pray
for them: I
pray not for the world, but
for them which
thou hast given me; for
they are thine.
John 17:8
For I have given unto them
the words which
thou gavest me; and
they have received them,
And not for these alone...
John 17:20
Neither pray I
for these alone, but
for them also which
shall believe on me through
their word;
For which cause Paul thanked God...
1Thes 2:13 For
this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because,
when ye received the word of God which
ye heard of us, ye
received it not as the word of men, but
as it is in truth,
the word of God, which
effectually worketh also
in you that
believe.
1John 5:10 He that
believeth on the Son of God
hath the witness in himself: he that
believeth not God hath
made him a liar; because
he believeth not the record that
God gave of his Son.
John 5:39
Search the scriptures; for
in them ye think
ye have eternal life: and
they are they
which testify of
me.
I find they are very confirming of each other if handled correctly.
