• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was just wondering, as I watched my two year old intently watching Veggie Tales, how many other parents kids watch them. My daughter has the whole set and she's waiting for Jonah and The Whale to be released. I think these cartoons bring good values to kids and teaches them bible verses and lessons on their levels. Anybody else have any thoughts? Do you think that Phil Visher has turned this whole Veggie Tale thing into a money thing? Sometimes I wonder when I go into our local Christian bookstore and there's all these things to go with Veggie Tales. Such as t-shirts, dolls, games, books,................. and they are so high priced. Just a thought..........

Well, I won't comment on what *I* think of them.

But I can't resist telling you what my son thinks of them!

"Oh mama, This is a terrible show. I like to *eat* my vegetables. Why would anyone give vegetables eyes and make them sing and dance? That makes me feel disgusted when I think about eating them! This show makes me feel sick. I don't want to watch it anymore!"

This is the same child who won't eat meat unless it doesn't actually look like meat. And won't eat "cone head sundaes" because they have m&m eyes.

Sensitive little soul, isn't he?

We LOVE veggie tales. I don't care whether he's making a ton of money on it or not. ~smile~

We watch silly songs the most and know them by heart! We don't have them all yet, but I'd like to get them all (my kids are now 10-14).

If we're going to watch something and we're going to put money in someones pocket, I'd rather do that for someone who's spreading the good news than Disney or someone else who's secular.

everything in the Christian bookstore is highpriced <sigh>, but on-line shopping is an option too.

We like Veggie Tales at our house, but they're not our favorite or anything. I think the humor is a little over my kids' heads *whoosh*.

As far as Christian entertainers making money--good! I'd rather spend money on something good and clean than on something worldly.

:p I like Veggie tales too, don't get me wrong, I just think the prices are high. The other thing I don't get is the "321 PENGUINS"? I've watched them and I still don't understand them, Fidgel, Midgel, Pidgel? What's that all about? LOL I think my daughter's favorite "VT" is King George and His Ducky! Because I love my duck.........................LOL. (it's very late, time for bed, too many kids LOL) :pink:

The bunny, the bunny whoa whoa the bunny ....
Everybodys got a waterbuffalo, yours is fast mine is slow ...
Oh no what we going to do? The king likes Daniel more than me ...

Our daughter drives us crazy with 'eggis' as she says. She loves to what the one about the giant pickle and laughs very time Larry falls over with the tuba 'fall! fall!' They are good wholesome things that teach the right stuff to kids today.

The thing I don't like is how catchy some of the tunes are. Oh great the bunny song is in my head now....
